Shoe Crazy

I think I have bought more shoes in the past three days than I have in the past three years combined (not including flip flops). I took Katie to Stamp Your Feet for the first time Tuesday. I bought a pair of heels and a pair of flats, both brown, and both desperately needed. I am what Katie calls a "practical shoe-buyer." She is not. For instance, she bought a pair of pink snakeskin heels. I would not be caught dead in something like that, unless it was part of a costume. Anyway, she fell in love with the store. And we sang karaoke ("Wanted Dead or Alive") and got 10% off. So, that was pretty sweet. She was happy and proclaimed it her new favorite store.

Last night, I got an email from the store owner, because I had joined their mailing list back in the summer when I was searching for go-go boots. The Tuscaloosa store is going out of business. I knew Katie would be disappointed, but I broke the news to her anyway. And, since they were having a sale and all their shoes were 65% off, I went back this morning before work. And I bought way too many shoes. Two pair of flats, three pair of heels, and some boots that do not match anything I own. Yeah, who's the practical shoe-buyer now?

But, they're all pretty cute. Except one pair. But, I figure comfort outweighs cuteness on that pair, so I'm totally fine with it.

When did I become a girly-girl?

Sadly, I still do not own a pair of black heels.
