An entry!

I can't believe that school starts on Monday.

I've spent the summer dealing with a severely depressed father. It was to the point that his doctors had him on suicide watch while I was away visiting Namine on her vacation and when I got back and he wasn't home... I lost one parent like that, I'm not going to lose another!. Part of me just wants to ( Read more... )

Your dad still hasn't recovered?

...

Well, I don't know if this would be the right thing to say, but, if you need time off from school...I think you should take it. A break isn't the same as dropping out, and you'll miss only one semester. As long as you're willing to continue in the long run, and aren't doing it because you're giving up, then I can't see anything wrong. You can even settle something with the Dean. Someone important needs you, and I think that's reason enough. Depression can be dangerous, Pence, it's hard to leave anyone alone at a time like that. It's up to you, yet I just hope things work out.

On a more lighter topic, it's been a long time since I've ate anything from you! Let's hang out this weekend?

Dad's really worrying me... You know how he is about the restaurant! He treats it like a member of the family. I've suggested that he rebuild and start over, but the insurance money just isn't enough, unfortunately. I don't know if I want to take the time off, though... I know it's awful, but at least I'm still living at home and will be there most of the time, yeah?

We should go do something! We haven't actually done anything together in forever! Let's make this a great weekend before it's back to the grind on Monday!

I know how he felt for that restaurant, and I know him too. Which is why I'm worried. I can help you with the insurance money, if it's okay. He can build an exact replica of Serenity if he wanted. Bring me the papers, and it's done. Whatever can get him off this funk, the better.

And as I've said, it's up to you if you want time off or not. You got a point that you can stay home most of the day. Just remember that, if things get hectic, and you need a break, don't feel unsure doing so. It's understandable.

I forgot we were starting school on Monday. But we definitely need to hang out before then! It's been way too long. We can browse through the town,or go somewhere driving. See and visit old sites. Summer is ending, so we should make it worth it.

We've had a couple people offer to help rebuild for free, Namine's father included, but he says that he's not a charity case and that he doesn't need help. I'm seriously thinking about doing it and not telling him until it's all finished.

We do need to do something today! Just pick it and we'll do it! But, this is you we're talking about, sea salt ice cream is going to be a part of whatever we do!

...I was hoping that wouldn't be the respond to rebuilding. Have you tried speaking to him? Had a father to son conversation? He seems to have a lot of issues, not with just the restaurant, but everything that went on within it. I find it hard to believe that he would love that place more than you. Sometimes, problems would have been solved if people just expressed their feelings. I know...there were sweet memories there, special ones, even with your mother. But he also has to see that new ones can be made, just as better, with you and everyone who loved the Serendipity.

Whatever's decided, just know that I'll lend a hand as much as I can. Money, working, anything.

And hey, what's that supposed to mean?...okay, fine, you got me. But it wouldn't be the same without it for old time's sake. I'll pass by on Sunday, and we'll go through town. How about it?
