I'm useless at updating this thing. I don't have much of a life outside of the restaurant! My life is cook, cook, wait tables, clean things, talking on the phone with Nami, more cooking, catering business, slip away for two seconds to see Nami, more work, lather rinse and repeat all of that just about everyday! All work and no play make Pence a ( Read more... )

As Uncle Rooster would say, "you and me both, brother". I spent the vast majority of yesterday on a ladder, except for when I headed to the airport to say goodbye to my love. Such is the life of a working man, but I think it makes the time we spend with our loved ones even more cherished.

I don't know when classes resume. I haven't received any e-mails, phone calls, or letters about that, but I don't mind working until school's start.

I may need to take you up on that offer soon. In return, I can do about any maintenance or repair work that could be imagined.

I think dad has forgotten what it's like to be a teenager. He catches me not doing anything for two minutes while I'm on the phone with Namine and drags me away to the restaurant and shoves a serving platter into my hand and tells me to take it to table 4. I'm refusing any work this weekend! I have plans with Namine on Saturday night and he's not interrupting that!

As long as it isn't peak hours on Friday or Saturday night it should be no problem to get you in! No payment necessary :)

Tell him how important tomorrow is for you and Namine. Surely he'll sympathise with being young and in love, and will give you the night off. He hasn't forgotten about being a teenager, he's just currently wrapped up in being a father.

It won't be. She doesn't return until Sunday evening, and it might be some time during the week.
And friends help out friends, after all. If anything breaks at an inconvenient hour, give me a call and I will do what I can to help.

I'm not sure if he remembers what that's like or not. He.. he hasn't been on a date in, well, I don't ever remember him going on a date my entire life... He's completely thrown himself into the restaurant and me and now that I'm older I think he's at a loss of what to do...

Just let me know and I'll set things in motion for you!
If we ever need any repairs, you'll be the first one I'll call!

He does remember, somewhere deep in the reaches of his mind. In my experience, fathers don't like watching their sons grow up because it reminds them that they're getting older, too. They want you to be their little boy for forever, but they also know things can't be like that.

Things are already quite wonderfully in motion, Pence. Thank you for all of this.
