As Uncle Rooster would say, "you and me both, brother". I spent the vast majority of yesterday on a ladder, except for when I headed to the airport to say goodbye to my love. Such is the life of a working man, but I think it makes the time we spend with our loved ones even more cherished.

I don't know when classes resume. I haven't received any e-mails, phone calls, or letters about that, but I don't mind working until school's start.

I think dad has forgotten what it's like to be a teenager. He catches me not doing anything for two minutes while I'm on the phone with Namine and drags me away to the restaurant and shoves a serving platter into my hand and tells me to take it to table 4. I'm refusing any work this weekend! I have plans with Namine on Saturday night and he's not interrupting that!

I'm not sure if he remembers what that's like or not. He.. he hasn't been on a date in, well, I don't ever remember him going on a date my entire life... He's completely thrown himself into the restaurant and me and now that I'm older I think he's at a loss of what to do...

He does remember, somewhere deep in the reaches of his mind. In my experience, fathers don't like watching their sons grow up because it reminds them that they're getting older, too. They want you to be their little boy for forever, but they also know things can't be like that.
