Hey there, hon! Welcome to the 'Sherlock-is-awesome' bandwagon! ;)

I'm so glad you finally managed to watch ep 2.3 and even gladder to see that you appreciated it as much as I did. The similarities with the LoM finale are many, but I had a totally different feeling watching this rooftop scene, probably because I knew that Sherlock's move wasn't the real jump of a self-deluded man who was unhappy of his life, but rather a well-orchestrated trick with no real fatal consequences (apart for breaking poor John's heart, but that's a different story).

Isn't Martin Freeman one of the most wonderful actors ever? I had goosebumps every time I watched the final scenes of Reichenbach: he was so good at expressing John Watson's feelings that I wanted to enter the screen and hug him then and there. I guess everybody in the Sherlock fandom wants Martin to get another BAFTA for this (plus all the other possible prizes the film industry can shower him with) and if he doesn't get it I'll be very disappointed.

If you want to read some fanfic, there are loads of good stories out there (I've memed some, check out my memories under 'Sherlock great fics' for them) and also a few comms where people discuss the episodes. I've entered this fandom only just recently and I'm still trying to find my ropes there, but it all seems pretty interesting so far, especially as far as speculation on the new season is concerned. There's a whole new world to explore for newbies like us and I'm excited because I've finally found the only series I've really loved completely since LoM ended.
