I thought your icon was the Clifs of Moher until I checked in your info. Amazing how similar Nova Scotia and Ireland look!

I always associated cornbread with the south- I've never even seen it at a bakery here (prairies)!

Quarter cup of sugar? This is corn cake, not corn bread.

Looks good. I've never made cornbread before but I do like it. I shall have to give it a try.

I dont have any suggestions for you but my bananas always turn brown unless I stick them in lemon juice immediately after cutting them.

The bulk store I bought the cornmeal from also has blue cornmeal. I was thinking of trying that one next time- does it still look appetizing?
