Did you all have an amazing Christmas? I've been either baking, celebrating the holiday season with family, or holidaying with my partner as far away from civilisation as we can get. Blogging ... not so much. So here's a very belated end to the 12 Days of Christmas series.
12 Pudding Truffles
These truffles have become a bit of a tradition for me at Christmas. Each year they tend to be a bit different, dependant on what other flavour cakes I'm making and might have spare cake crumbs from. The decorations also fluctuate dependent on my level of laziness.
This year I used dark chocolate and raspberry cakes for the truffles. I mix the cake crumbs with ganache, roll them into balls and cover them with chocolate. This year I decorated them with fondant holly leaves I made, but used a shortcut bought option of the berries.
[recipe] 11 Rudolph Cookies
These are peanut butter cookies my puppy fell in love with, as did the rest of the family. After I finished taking pictures the swarm descended on the batch they'd been waiting to taste. Because I'm all coordinated and shiz, I dropped half of mine on the floor. Puppy rushed to eat the spoils and loved it so much he took to stalking me and making this face in the hopes for more:
Well, puppy would have had to fight the rest of the family for them so he had no hope of getting more.
I decorated the cookies with pretzels and chocolates to make them look sort of like rudolph. I failed a little on the aesthetic front, but mm, they were delicious.
[recipe] 10 Chocolate Ganache Tartlets
These tiny tarts are shortcrust pastry and chocolate ganache.
I love the look of mince tarts but hate the taste, so this was my way of having the best of both worlds. Another dessert that didn't last very long.
[recipe] 9 Snowman Truffles
And lastly, there's these guys.
These truffles were made using the leftover cake scraps from Day #3's candle cakes. I rolled the truffles in dessicated coconut and decorated them with random chocolate things I found hiding in my cupboard.
