mmm i love chestnut cream and simple whipped cream frosting. i strongly prefer asian style cakes for my birthday over north american sugar filled frosting!

Living in Japan I have definitively noticed the difference in levels of sweetness. I do like the lighter cakes in Japan, but every once in awhile I have a craving for something super sweet ;)

Japanese cakes are always super cute
They don't decorate cakes with frosting in Japan, and powdered sugar is EXPENSIVE (for no good reason). Most cakes in Japan are decorated with cream, fruit, or bean paste.
I was surprised :O but then I remembered that, yeah, they always have fruit on top of their cakes(mostly strawberries)

YOUR CAKE IS SUPER CUTE I WANT TO TAKE IT HOME...

o_0 tomatoes and parsley, that's not even acceptable on a tomato soup cake!

Thanks! Luckily I have a membership to Costco now, so that helps a bit. Sorry, for the almond, I just used almond extract and vanilla extract in the frosting. The chestnut cream, vanilla, cake and almond frosting make for a nice combination of tastes.
