I guess it takes me getting pissed off at the Oscars to emerge from my den and actually update this damn thing.
As some of you guys know, I have a unusual talent for predicting winners, especially the obscure sound/wardrobe/screenplays ones. But anyway, I was hoping for Little Miss Sunshine to win best picture because omg, i love that movie. Out of the 5 listed, LMS was on the top of my list followed by Babel, The Queen, Iwo Jima, and The Departed in that order. So you can imagine how pissed I was that the Departed won. We all know that it wasn't Marti's best work, but whatever. I guess it's done now.
The only other one that I predicted wrong would be the Best Song. I figured that to make up for the overlook on the best picture nod, that they would've chosen at least one of the THREE nominated from Dreamgirl, but apparently the Academy holds grudges (though they did let Hudson win---of which nobody is surprised). So I must say I was extremely surprised when they said Melissa Etheridge.
Bah.
In other news I'm doing fine, though I've been swamped with homework and planning for next quarter classes. I'm still debating if I want to take math and end up with 13 hours of just lab a week, or go with the Beatles class and fill out some GEs. The math is for my major... but its a class on the BEATLES that satisfies TWO GEs.
Bah again.
I'm going to try to update this thing more than once every two months. I swear. But for now, good night.
