I Can Finally Breathe

A very long story short: Went to an ENT because I suddenly went deaf in my right ear. (It is permanent, sadly).

This ENT was more interested in my nose and its lack of being able to breathe, my migraines, the barometric pressure headaches, and other sinus-related issues. I mentioned I had something like a bone spur that poked me in the front sinus cavity whenever my sinuses swelled, discovered by a CAT scan decades ago.

I went for another CAT scan, Here are two pictures.

The ENT said it was one of the worst deviated septums he had ever seen. I also had old sinus gunk piled up in my sinus cavities because it could not escape because of how crooked my nose was inside. The ENT thought I had broken my nose at some point but I said I had always had this nose.

I had the surgery. It would not stop bleeding so I had to go back into surgery. Coming out of back-to-back surgeries was hard but I finally got home and worked a few hours. Oh, I have been working remotely since mid-March 2020 because of my autoimmune issues.

Discovered the double intubation had sliced open the back of my throat next to my uvula a few days later when my throat would not stop hurting. It was a vertical cut. The skin flap finally grew back into place.

Was seeing the ENT weekly to have different things done - pull out the wadding and stabilizers and put in new stablizers, pull out soaked scabs that looked like leaches, pull out more scabs, etc. I had to keep my passages constantly wet with saline mist and saline gel. I still do this since I have more healing scabs to get out of the passages but not hourly like the first week.

The good news out of this ordeal is I FINALLY can breathe in on the left (bad) side and feel the air go all the way up into my sinus cavity! The right side is still being a little stubborn so I may go back and have the ENT look up to see what is happening, but not now.

Now I need to figure out how to work this all into a fan fic, because I do write what I know into my stories.

Will it be Gravitation or One Piece? Or will I have no energy to even bother?

health, deviated septum
