Happy Valentine's Day to Everyone!
I know some people find the Valentine's Day holiday... how shall I say it... distasteful, largely in part because they do not have a special someone in their lives.
My message to you is this: you DO have a special someone, many in fact.
Just think about the people who make your life rich: family, friends, pets, then step beyond that small circle.
You know people in shops, restaurants and stores you frequent who say hello with a smile to you when you walk through the door.
You have Facebook and LiveJournal friends you have never met but show concern and offer comfort when you post a bump in your life's road.
How about the stranger who helped you with directions when you were lost, then smiled, wished you good luck and waved good-bye?
Every morning you say hello to the dog being walked by the neighbor you have never formally met but the neighbor is happy you acknowledge their furry family member.
All of these people make your life special and Valentine's Day is about special people.
Don't forget the most important special person - yourself. You are your own Valentine, especially when you love yourself, all of yourself.
