This was a weird day. Finished my second paper in the wee hours, and narrowly avoided disaster by accidentally taking a one hour catnap at my desk. Took the subway uptown (with difficulty, as for some reason the trains were so full not everybody could get on) and unfortunately Obama had already gone in. Did see some of the 24/7 cable news campaign corespondents I recognized out front, though.
Was surprised when our professor in Japanese cinema seemingly didn't show up. We talked to the department people, they couldn't get a hold of him and told us to leave at the 30 minute mark. With a minute and a half to go, though, he walked through the door. Alas. Also developed paranoia regarding the grade on the essay I just turned in as I learned from another student that our professor has actually written a book on Kurosawa's films. All of them.
At the halfway point of the four hour class I decided to skip out during the break since I was half dead from only getting 3 hours sleep over two nights and wouldn't remember the screening anyway. It was nearly noon at this point, but had a pleasant surprise when I discovered a crowd of people by one of the entrances to Cooper Union expectantly leaning against the police rails to look toward the line of black SUVs.
Unfortunately I was too much of a dip to realize that my camera had zoomed out at some point, changing what would have been a nice shot to a speck in the distance, but you can still see him. Hooray!
Afternoon was catching up on two weeks' comics at Forbidden Planet, a conference with my Hong Kong cinema teacher during her office hours regarding my having mistaken the 24th for the 26th, believing that she would have our papers turned in during class like the last papers rather than in her mailbox on the first day back from spring break. Also had a career development center thing to give tips for the upcoming career fair.
Did anime. It was alright, but they've kind of moved out of a lot of the shows I enjoyed watching, though I suppose I do enjoy Clannad somewhat if I don't have to download it or follow the plot. We kept hemmoraging people to the room next door, where the Hong Kong club had dumplings and Brawl on their projector.
I'm pretty dead right now. Definitely making sleep my primary objective for tomorrow morning. Only remaining dilemma is if I crash right now or if I try to catch up on my backlog of Gundam 00 so I can surf /m/ without constant spoiler paranoia.
