CHAPTER 10 - KAZUYA'S POV
I woke up the next morning, went downstairs and ate some cereal, and think about what had happened last night.
I was still angry with myself for letting Jin leave without a kiss...
Hopefully, he'd let me redeem myself and make it up to him.
Being in the running mood, I went upstairs and changed into a black tanktop and black shorts.
I put my sneakers on and headed out the door. After running around the yard a few times,
I had to stop right my place when an interesting sight came across your eyes.
I was in the feild behind Jin's house where I saw Jin in the same position I saw him Thursday morning before he got on the bus,
but now leaning against his house smoking a cigarette.
"I wonder how many he smokes a day?" I thought.
I felt bad for judging him because he smoked...
I thought that maybe he just did it because he was stressed about something.
I continued to watch him like a deer for a few minutes.
Just when I was about to go back up to the house for feeling like a stalker,
a man came stumbling out the screen door.
"Jiiiiiinnnn... get your ass in herrreee and clean up the kitchen!" the man grumbled.
By his slurred enunciation, I could tell he'd been drinking. I ducked down in the high grass a little bit, but kept watching.
"You're drunk Keiichiro, go back to sleep." Jin answered going back to his cigarette.
"Don't tell me when I'm dddrrrunk or nooot, now get in the house and clean up the kitchen like a good little runt!" Keiichiro said,
stabbing his finger into Jin's chest. Jin just shook his head, shoved Keiichiro's finger away from his chest and headed inside.
But before he was completely inside, he saw me.
His reaction confused me, and the look on his face confused me more.
It was as if he was disappointed...
The drunk man named Keiichiro let out a growling belch, which signalled me to sprint
up to the hill and run safely into my house.
When I was inside, I shut the door and leaned up against it. I started to feel a little lonely, and I decided to call up Guchi.
Besides, I really wanted to tell her about the 'events' of last night. I dialed her number and after about two rings, she answered.
*PHONE CONVERSATION*
Kazu : Hey
Guchi : Hey! What's up?
Kazu : I had a rough night last night...
Guchi : What happened, your parents fight again?
Kazu : No actually, they aren't even here. They're gone for the weekend, helping my grandparents.
Guchi : Oh... so what's the matter then?
Kazu : OK, last night when I was getting ready for bed, I heard this clicking niose coming from my window...
Guchi : That's weird. I'd be scared...
Kazu : I wasn't scared until I went to see what it was.
Guchi : Oh my gosh, did you see ghost?!!!
Kazu : No! It was Jin...
Guchi : Not-uh... Really?
Kazu : hai! He wanted to take me into the woods....
Guchi : To kill you...
Kazu : No! He wanted to show me something in the woods... These cabin things.
Guchi : Since when do you have cabins in your woods?
Kazu : Well, they weren't even teachinically in my woods, we had to trespass to see them.
Guchi : *Fake Gasps* Kazuya! You naughty girl! Breaking the law!
Kazu : I know, right? Well that's not even the most shocking part.
Guchi : Interesting... go on.
Kazu : Well, we went back to my house and I invited him in to get something to drink.
Well, we were just standing in my kitchen when he started coming closer, and closer, and then...
Guchi : What?! What?!
Kazu : He tried to kiss me!
Guchi : wait, he tried to KISS you?
Kazu : yeah~
Guchi : Omg, this is great news!
Kazu : how is this great news? I didn't let him kiss me... I backed away.
Guchi : What? Why? He's hot!
Kazu : I know... Well, I don't know why I didn't let him... but... I give up.
Guchi : But at least now you know that he likes you.
Kazu : I never thought about that...
Guchi : See. And since he likes you, you will have another chance, for sure.
Kazu : I feel like such an idiot when I talk to him... I seriously can here myself nagging...
UH! I sound like my mom. I dont even think I know how to flirt... How do you do it?
Guchi : OK, first off, every girl knows how to flirt, you just need some practice.
Kazu : how do you practice how to flirt?
Guchi : Well, you could start off with being around other guys more often...
Kazu : Yeah, that's a great idea. More guys to feel like an idiot around.
Guchi : Hey, don't be like that. My brilliant plan involves confindence.
Kazu : What 'brilliant plan'?
Guchi : Didn't Jun invite you to go see him and his band play at the park today?
Kazu : yeah, I completely forgot... He's pretty cute... But he doesn't compare to Jin.
Guchi : You should go just so you can get used to being around guys.
Then you'll know how to act when you hang out with Jin again.
Kazu : I dont know... I really don't want to be around a bunch of guys by myself. Unless you come with me!
Guchi : Sure... I'll come with you, just because your my friend...
Kazu : Well i'm glad to know that your not doing this just meet hot guys or anything either...
Guchi : That's a benefit... but not the purpose! Anyway, I'll come over a little early, so we can go over a few things.
Kazu : OK, but how are we going to get to the park?
Guchi : We'll ask Ryo, maybe Tat~chan and him would like to go.
Kazu : all right, see you then.
I hung up the phone and it was 2:34. The park opens up at 6:00.
I went upstairs and took a long shower. Then went downstairs and watched t.v. untill Guchi arrived.
There was a knock at the door and I opened it to see Guchi carrying a bag.
"Whats in the bag?"
"Supplies." She said, and walked in.
We went into the living room and I sat on the couch while Guchi stood in the middle of the floor with the bag at her feet.
"What were you planning on wearing?" she asked.
"I dont know, jeans and a T-shirt."
"I knew you would say that... but dont worry. I brought a cute skirt for you to wear." She said pulling it out of the bag.
She held up the skirt next to her face. It was a short, black denim skirt that was tighter around the top, and flared at the end.
"I can't wear that! It won't even cover my whole ass!"
"Sure it will, besides you have great legs! Now for a shirt..."
She reached into the bag and held up a pink halter-top that said 'sexy' on the front of it.
"Pink?" I sighed
"Fine." She said, rolling her eyes as she reached into the bag again and pulled out a dark blue, low cut tanktop.
Around the V-neck, it had black stitching designs.
"How about this?" she said holding it up.
"That's good I guess." I grabbed the clothes and changed into them. I looked in the mirror and were shocked at what I saw.
The skirt actually covered up the whole backside, and it did show off kazu's best assets quite nicely. (her legs)
The shirt tugged on to her every curve and made her look very womanly. Most of the time she'd just wear T-shirts to cover-up.
Kazu walked out into the living room and Guchi gasped.
"You should dress up more often! ... But you can't at school." Guchi hugged me and said that Ryo would be here soon.
While we were waiting, she went over the flirting basics.
"Smile. Guys like to see girls smile. And don't be afraid to touch their arm when you talk to them.
But don't stick to them like glue, and dont hit them. They don't like that. You dont want to come off as annoying."
When Guchi said that, I sighed, remembering that I did just about everything wrong with Jin already.
"Basically, just act mature, and interested in what they say. Your going to be around a bunch of musicians,
so all they'll talk about will probably have to do with the band."
"It seems like a lot to remember." I said, plopping into the recliner.
"Just act cool relaxed. But if all else fails, play hard to get." She added with a wink.
"If only Jin could see you now..." Guchi sighed, making the two of us start laughing.
Ryo's truck pulled up and me and Guchi headed out the door. His truck was high off the ground.
I had to jump, and then pull myself up to get all the way in.
"Thanks for the ride Ryo." I said.
"No problem. I'm always happy to do a favor for my friends. Especially when the give me money for gas."
He said the last part rather quickly and then smiled back at Guchi who handed him 1000 yen.
"Ryo, how did you know that you liked Tat~chan?" I asked, a while into the ride.
"I knew you liked Jin, I knew it! Or are you asking me this for Matsumoto?" he asked.
"I dont like Matsumoto Jun anymore... a lot" I added.
"You'd do him." Ryo, turning right, causing me to jerk the other way.
"Oh yeah... I'd hit that." I said teasingly.
"No I'm kidding. I'm just hanging out with him to practice my flirting skills." I added.
"Im guessing that was Guchi's brilliant plan..." he said looking back at her.
"Guys like to flirt with girls, so it is important that you make a point to show them that you like them too.
Otherwise, they wont bother. But I think the main thing is to find something you have in common with the person." He said.
Me, find something I have in common with Jin? Could that be possible?
"I dont think I have anything in common with Jin." I said. WE two ARE completely different.
"Sure you do, you just need to find it." Guchi assured me.
We all arrived at the park a little after 6 o'clock.
I walked around the park a little bit, and when I got to the stage, you saw Jun and his band setting up.
'Ooooh Jun, but Jin is hotter'
