So, Alan and I want to find an apartment before we get married so we can have a place to live after we get married. We started looking in June, and already found a place we like. We liked it so much that we put down an offer, and it was accepted! As exciting as this all is, I feel like it's going way too fast. I was hoping that the process would take some more time, so we could have more time to save for the down payment, closing costs, furniture, our wedding, but now we have to hire a lawyer, put in our mortgage application (we were already pre-approved for a mortgage,) and submit our co-op application! I don't even know if our financial situation would be acceptable to the co-op board, which is probably silly because if we got pre-approved for a mortgage, I'm pretty sure that means our financial situation is sound, but a little paranoia never hurt anyone...Also, the real estate agent is so pushy! Everything has to be done ASAP or we may "lose it" but as fas as I can tell, we're the only ones interested if the price dropped as significantly as it had. Also, she gives no notice! She asks for something the day of, and expects it done that day before the end of the day. It's very frustrating so far, but hopefully the process will become less frustrating, and maybe even enjoyable... One day :-P In the meantime, Alan and I will try to weather this storm, and come out of it with a kick-ass apartment :-)
