I haven't updated my LJ in such a long time.. don't really have much to write outside of boring school stuff XD Anyways, I recently purchased a bunch of DVDs, so over the next few days I'll be screencappin a few and giving some commentary(because I'm that bored). The first dvd is a super duper V.A. dvd called 人間解体(ningenkaitai) with a total of 33 bands on it, so you can guess the quality is quite um... exceptional ;x So come join me as i torture myself with enjoy this dvd!
These screens are pretty shoddy, but I'll just blame the crappy quality of the dvd :x And yes... I was trying to make them look stupid at parts.. it was the only way I was going to get through this 240 minute dvd alive. We're greeted by this lovely woman smoking a cig and coughing. Lovely.
「ドグマ散ル」
I think this band's sheer mediocrity pretty much set the stage for this dvd. Not good not bad just.. generic. I think the band's whole "evil doctors" look has been a bit overdone lately and their reliance on "OI!"s during the set was pretty annoying. Watching the singer have a mental breakdown on stage was pretty lol.
ふりぃ
This band was pretty 180 from the last one going from dark to more upbeat rock. Guitars could use a bit of work, but altogether they were pretty good. Not much to say on their visual style, but I do like the bassist's hair.. its pretty :3 Oh and the last song when they're introducing the band is totally cute!
HADES
The song they played during the intro was kinda cool.. it got my hopes up. I was just mentioning to someone how you never see VK vocalists playing the guitar as well... there was probably more to that then I first thought. At least the drummer looks into it :( I guess they were for a more oldschool 90's VK feel, but it just feels uninspired. Visually um.. nothing to say there..they're pretty nondescript.

Ooh.. time for a band I've actually heard of! Seriously wtf @ their guitarist... fuzzy armwarmers and legwarmers just... no. Oh! He also sings :( Visually they get a WTF for Way Too Fuzzy.

They do a comment.. how lame. The guy on the right doesn't even move the whole time then just gets up and leaves half way into the comment *confused*.

Time for another band I've heard of before. I'm still pretty on the fence about this band.. they sound pretty good but their vocalist just has such a "unique" voice. Their first song is really cute and sounds like something an early Shelly Trip Realize would have done. So far they've been the best band on this dvd which doesn't say a whole lot :x

Man.. if they just played the intro music the whole time and danced around this band wouldn't have been half bad. LOL he dropped the mic(he looks so surprised!)! I guess they're not THAT bad after all. Singer could use a bit of work but their guitarist seems pretty talented for someone in such a small band. Their looks are uh.. white?
Dea're fuse
I guess this is the newer band of someone from ダリ.. maybe. They're actually um... pretty good? The guitar solo in the first song sounds nice and crisp with little to no mistakes.. bravo! Visually they all look pretty nice which is an improvement.

Headbanging.. lots of headbanging. Sounds like hmm... D mixed with Deadman just not as good? Screencap cus I like the bassist's hat(and because the singer is pretty ugly).

Made a pretty good intro with latexy costumes abound(except for one guy who looks homeless???). Decent lil' band that I wouldn't mind listening to if they had actually released anything instead of (probably) disbanding.
Bose Mond
When I first heard the upbeat instrumentals I started having a bit of hope for this band. This was quickly shot down the second the vocalist opened his trap. Terrible. God that seemed like the longest set ever x_x

Interesting visuals(well for 2 of the members at least) to start off and a nice lil' guitar solo.. nice! Trying to figure out whether the vocalist is female or not. I'm going to go with yes, but just barely since there seem to be some boob-like objects under his/her top. I guess they're not too terrible.. oh.. who am I kidding :(

This was the first of two "guest" bands on the dvd which means they're semipopular I guess. The fact that they're using studio music over live clips for this makes me D: Its pretty good, I guess, and their masks make me lol. Their visuals are pretty boring(masks and black hoodies) but their rockin' music makes up for that fact. They tried making this like a live PV with a bunch of quick shots and multiple angles so it was hard to get a nice shot so I'll give ya the singer headbang-screaming into the camera.

Dollis Mary, now theres a pleasant name to hear. This was back in their happy-funky-jazzy times when they were actually good XD I'm gonna have to post a few screenies cus they're so awesome! One of the few reasons I bought this dvd! Sadly the recording is very shoddy on their set or some reason(like tereko quality) :'( This is BY FAR the best on this whole dvd... really wish they had more live footage ;_;

I hear synths bleeping and blooping! This has gotta be good! Outfits are um... yeah. They actually sound kinda decent... like a cheap version of r*a*p.

SHEROCK was one of the other few bands that I bought this dvd for. First off: acoustic guitar.. fuck yeah! They put on a pretty awesome set probably making them the 2nd best band on this dvd so far. As far as looks go, not much to mention other than their fuzzy pink guitarist.

Phew.. finally over halfway through the dvd. I still can't get over the feeling that their singer is a bad Gackt clone. They're pretty I guess... oh look! The singer has the same dancing ability as Gackt too! XDDD
CAT SKULL
Interesting name. Visuals rank a 2 out of 10(only cus one guy has dyed hair). Their sound is pretty much just generic rock and stress on the generic part.

Hmm... another familiar name here. Good as usual, I guess. They sound pretty close to studio live too, which I thought was pretty awesome.

Hip Crusher
Just looking at pics of this band makes me wet myself in excitement. LOL rap-rock. If you mixed rap and ISABELLE you'd get this band. Compared to the last two bands, Hip Crusher is pure genius. They're actually a pretty decent band once you get past the silly looks. Their music is pretty fun, but could use a bit more energy.

I'm finally in the home stretch now! A bass playing vocalist? Now thats odd. Again, nothing good and nothing bad about this band.

This band is actually quite decent, but maybe its because they actually have the first partially competent vocalist I've seen out of the last few bands. On a side note, the singer's neck scares me.. not sure why. The second song is nice and slow ~_~

Intro sounds kinda interesting, but its probably DeG or some poopoo like that :( Gah screaming.. did I ever mention how much I hate screaming? Pretty nondescript band so not much to say besides the fact that their guitarist kinda reminds me of shagrath.

Uh oh... another band with a female vocalist. Oh wow she can actually sing @_@ I think I might... actually like them? They kinda have an onmyouza-like sound but a bit more contemporary.

Hmm.. the piass. They are well.. they're the piass. I never quite liked 'em but if you're a fan of theirs its probably a pretty decent set which they made all PV-like.
