Because I feel like talking about something totally kind of random :D
Okay, cause I know at least more than half of my f-list doesn't like/doesn't care for him... but you know what? I DON'T CARE 8DDD!!
I know I'm probably a bit behind with the news on him and what not |D;;... but... GACKT. AH. GACKT. MADE ME SO HAPPY.
I love Gackt for his music. I have never ever loved him just because he is a beautiful person. And sure, 25% of the reason I love him is just because his personality is so very eccentric and amusing.
But his music was always so emotional, inspirational, creative... and it gave life to many of my artistic projects. Gackt's music has always been there for me emotionally. And Gackt's music has always been there to push me to do what I love and do try and do it to the most of my potential.
His songs weren't just music, they were something beautiful. I loved the way he'd he always try to out do himself by pushing his potential. I loved the way he always experimented with sounds just because he would make just noises something extremely lovely. I loved how even when I couldn't actually understand the music he sang, the feeling was always there in his voice.
So obviously, I have rather high expectations for his music. And well, obviously I was actually kind of sad since his last album DIABOLOS because it wasn't really special :/ and it kinda all sounded the same... and then Redemption came out and it was cool but okay, Returner was emotional but still just okay. And I was getting more and more disappointed with Gackt because all of his songs really didn't carry any of his usual dynamism.
UNTIL RECENTLY!! 8DD Because I finally decided to check up on the Gackt scene because I was bored... to find that he had made a few lovely new releases; JESUS, Justified and Ghost.
JESUS was very interesting because it was kind of out of the usual theme Gackt likes to sing about; the theme being about suicide (usually the theme being of love and all things related). Of course his overuse (and repetitive) use of English was amusing. But alas, I still can't really understand his english without subtitles, but I like the fact that it's proof that Gackt is still experimenting by stepping out of his usual comfort zone, which makes me very happy. The sound of the song sounds a lot heavier than his usually and latest releases have been, although still keeping the very Gackt-feel. I laugh at the fact that in the PV he's kind of dressed like a strange mix between Green Day and My Chemical Romance (ಠ_ಠ). In general, it's not a bad song, and it's a really cool come back.
Justified was kind of a special release for a PS3 video game (kinda like Devil May Cry, with the main character obviously modeled after Gackt xD;). No Single was released for this song but it was added as an extra in this huge collection that Gackt recently put together called nine*nine (I'd buy it if it didn't cost like... TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS. ;A;''' I guess with all the extras it comes with it's worth it but I don't have the moneeeyy T.T;;) It's a good song although it's not really that special, I still rather enjoy it 8D. Kind of reminded me of REDEMPTION and LONGING which I'd like to consider some of the rather better songs Gackt had released after DIABOLOS
GHOST. Now GHOST I probably like the most so far x3 It's a electronic-rock song which actually rather surprised me because I didn't think Gackt wouldn't do very well with electronic music, but it sounds really really good. The song is extremely catchy too xD He attempts english in this song too... which I didn't really pick up once again till I watched it with subtitles u_u;; but the video was interesting. The song was made actually for the TERMINATOR: The Sarah Connor Chronicles TV Show so there's bits of chips from the TV show in there, but Gackt there with his make up revealing robot features underneath was freaking COOL. And him robot dancing, WHICH WASN'T HALF BAD for the record. xD The ending was the best with his Robot walk and Robot Janitor part.
