I really liked this - it combined some interesting ideas with a bit of a "feel-good" factor towards the end. I like the idea of Sam's 21st century life meeting up with his 1970s life in the persons of Chris and Maya!
Thank you. Feel-good was what I was aiming for (in this version. In the other ending, it was all about leaving the ghost of Sam Tyler behind them as they walked out together, but I decided that sucked). And hey, why NOT Chris and Maya?
(- my favourite kind of review involves many ellipse, because it means you're lost for words, and I get to sit back here and just go 'hee, I did that. :D')
Yup, even online, in a medium where if I really wanted to I could sit back and compose an elegant, eloquent review, I still like to show that I'm lost for words. Also, I love your default icon.
Well, you already know I like it, but I'll say it again for posterity--the idea that Sam is gone in the past AND in the present just kills me, but in a good way, and I love Maya finding closure through the things that Chris will be able to tell her. And I love the idea that Chris is still using the things he learned from Sam, so many years ago.
(Also? who's been ever so patient with me. *boggles* Who's the one who has to have everything explained three times, eh?)
I love how you've written grown-up Chris. I can see him turning out just this way. Loved the concept of him coming back to replace Sam. Really enjoyed this. :)

Uhm.
No...
I don't think that Maya would like Ray terribly much. :P
