So when Styx is supposed to be studying, she writes something instead. WHOOPS.
ICON IRRELEVANT it just really makes me laugh and I wanted to use it and I'm seriously never ever going to use it ICly, really.

If you had told Kaito eight months ago that he would soon be traveling on a world-wide journey through a fictional land with a ninja, a card-game obsessed celebrity, and a card-game obsessed thief, he would have laughed and called you an idiot.
And then, eight months later, he would have looked back on the incident with a defeated sigh and a shake of his head.
Life had a tendency to throw curve balls at people, and as lucky as Kaito was, even his fortune wasn't enough to release him from his fate in Johto. Eight months is a long time to spend trapped in a world that is probably hundreds of millions of light-years away from your own, and if you can't find a way back right away, then it stands to reason that you would find some way to adapt. It may not be voluntary, but it is survival, and the stranded magician would hardly let a 'little' inconvenience like this one get him down for long.
He had grown accustomed to the daily routine of Johto. Part of him had even evolved to look forward to it.
It certainly wasn't that he had given up on returning to Tokyo; on the contrary, he continued to search for a way out every single day he could. His goals and values in Japan were far different than the ones he held in the land of Pokemon, and to him, they superseded everything. He couldn't find Pandora in Johto, he couldn't defeat Snake and the organization that murdered his father, he couldn't do right by Toichi's name in a land where none of his ideals mattered. It was for that reason that he knew he couldn't stay here forever, and that he wouldn't choose to do so if he had the option.
Even so, as the days ticked by without any signs of an exit, he became more and more fond of the colorful world around him. And it was always the little things that he looked forward to the most.
Kay's voice carrying dramatically through the streets as she launched herself off of the Pokemon Center roof in a stunning display of acrobatics and balance. The delightfully not-so-innocent smile she wore when they dyed Nurse Joy's hair green. The feel of her hand against his, squeezing gently in reassurance as if to say, it's okay, I understand, I lost my dad too.
Johan's excited expression, which washed over his features every time he gave Kaito a dueling lesson, eyes lighting up in triumph as he took out the magician's last few life points (that was Johan: 53, Kaito: 0). The sound of his awkward laugh as Kaito tried to explain to him how girls worked and why it was perfectly okay to guess what color panties they were wearing, as long as they didn't hear you. The equally as awkward hugs he always received in greeting that would always be awkward, but never unwelcome.
Crow's sarcasm, which always managed to draw an amused snort from the magician it was directed at. His very, very loud cry of rage when he woke up to find that two mischievous travel buddies had used his face as a canvas. The silence that hung in the air between them as Crow told him about his circumstances at home-- and why he couldn't leave his friend behind, even if he was a murderer
All of it seemed so very small. And yet, Kaito regarded it with clear significance. These were the things he would miss when he left, the things he didn't want to give up, the things that made this world feel just a little bit like--
"Kaaaaaaito!"
-- home.
The voice snapped him out of his pensive stupor, and he gave his head a little shake as he glanced up to seek out the owner. It was Kay, and she was waving at him frantically with Johan as Crow stood behind them both, shaking his head.
"Come oooon! Olivine City is this way! You're not going to make it there with us if you stare at the ground all day!"
"I'm coming!" Kaito called in return with a grump, and he adjusted the weight of his backpack over his shoulders. He could feel Biz's familiar presence on top of his head as the Aipom's tail swished back and forth quickly behind him, urging him to step forward and join his friends on the open road.
If you had asked Kaito eight months ago whether he would want to be jerked suddenly away from home and dropped into an unfamiliar world with unfamiliar people for a potentially life-changing journey, he would have called you stupid and said he never wanted to do it.
If you asked him that now, eight months later, all he would do is smile and say... it's really not that bad.
