[BAM video. With a Kaito controlling the feed. One very, very soaked Kaito who is currently dripping water onto the floor of the lobby of the Goldenrod Inn as he seeks solace from the rain. For once, he doesn't seem concerned or grumpy about his situation. In fact, he's kind of grinning as he lifts a hand to sweep his saturated bangs from his eyes ( Read more... )

Rained a lot, actually.

New England's not exactly a place you go for sunshine.

... In fact, this is what it does most of the time.

[They... do not have tents or shelter in Camp Otacon. Heather is not a happy camper today.]

[he snorts in amusement]

You told me about that. Guess it feels like home for you today, doesn't it?

A little!

... But at home, I can usually go inside and dry off!

[It was hard to tell just WHERE she was, but it was NOT dry. She sort of looked like she'd climbed out of a swimming pool.]

[scratching the back of his head sympathetically]

You don't have any tents or tarps to block the rain at all?

Nnnnnnot yet.

[She was still hoping Otacon would find a way to make something work...]

I'm... not actually sure.

Part of me wants to think it's some kinda trick to get us to come swaggering out of hiding.

That'd be a pretty dirty tactic, even for a police officer.

It wouldn't completely surprise me, though.

But I'm kinda jaded.

Maybe things work differently here.

[General bitterness aside, Heather doesn't actually have much of a beef with the police here. She knows they're just doing their job, even if she does think it's stupid to go after people for what happened in the fog. ... But, still, paranoia won out in the end.]

I don't have much experience with corrupt police officers. Just incompetent ones. [and even the officers he's met who worked outside of the law weren't really corrupt]
