Let me now say:
I. AM. DISGUSTED.

What bullshit is this? Who kills a fellow human being, let alone do it in such a painful and horrific way? Were those people really so BLINDED by hatred that they failed to see that, despite Shelley's differences, she was human too?

Now, I know hate crimes of all forms go back to the beginning of time: that knowledge is common. But you'd think that after being on this planet for some-odd millenia, amongst people that vary from one another so significantly, we would've learned to accept everyone, by now. Don't get me wrong, I realize we've come a long way, especially in the last century or so. But this is no excuse if we're such the "intelligent" beings we claim to be.

Now, I might be spiritual, but not religious . . . but doesn't the Bible say "love your neighbor as yourself"? And isn't one of the Ten Commandments "Thou Shalt Not Kill" . . . or "don't commit murder" or whatever it is, specifically (I know it involves not killing other people). And I know both of those sayings span across other religious texts as well, even if I don't know which ones specifically. Whatever happened to your Creator's word? Does it mean nothing? Are we humans really so arrogant that we'd cast aside our own God so we can act on our needless hate?

Religion, aside . . . would you, ANY of you, murder your God-fearing, heterosexual, white neighbor? Didn't think so. So why all this hate against those that are "different"? And, when you think about it, we're all different in the end. So shouldn't we hate everyone except for ourselves? If so, why is this not the case?

Back to my main point . . . all of this hate and fear and violence is pointless. It needs to STOP before humanity destroys itself.

I am infuriated and ashamed to be a part of the human race.

Ranting aside.
