FAVORITE LINE: Stained glass lined the high windows, and led to the centerpiece; a depiction of Jesus suffering on the cross. Face and body twisted in pain, his gaze was fixed in the middle distance. A thousand-yard stare.
ENDING LINE: “Have a good day,” she said, and strode back out into the sunlight.
