BMC 1993 produced 93 AMCI members second only to BMC 1992 (total=122).

Prior to BMC 1994, any 6 members of AMCI can perform the induction rites, and there is no limit to the number of induction climbs per BMC. Also, there is no expiration of the inductee status.

BMC 1993 is notorious for having the most number of induction climbs (total=14; see table below).

In 1994, the Board of Trustees passed a resolution regarding induction climbs.

  • There will only be 2 induction climbs per BMC.
  • The induction rites can only be performed together by the Chairperson, President and BMC Director (or their duly authorized representatives).
  • The 2nd induction climb must take place within 45 days of the 1st induction climb; otherwise, the BMC Committee must seek the approval of the Board of Trustees so that the 2nd induction climb can be held after the 45-day period.
  • The inductee status is valid until the next BMC.
  • If an inductee is unable to join any of the 2 induction climbs of the BMC where he/she became an inductee, then he/she must wait for the next BMC. He/She must submit a request to the AMCI President stating his/her intent to be inducted on the ensuing BMC. He/She must then complete 2 training climbs, and participate in 1 of 2 15-km qualifying runs. He/She does not pay any fees.
