BIO: Sonic was born on Christmas Island on the planet Mobius. He was blessed with the gift of speed since his birth, being able to crawl fasted than most adult humans can run. By the time he was able to run he was doing so at the speed of sound. This is how he earned his name.
Sonic first encountered Dr. Eggman (also called Robotnik) on South Island. Eggman wanted to conquer the world and used robots powered by small animals within to do so. Sonic liberated the animals and stopped the evil scientist's scheme. He has continued to do so ever since.
Sonic is actually destined to protect Mobius. He was given his incredible speed through influence from the Chaos Emeralds, the most powerful objects on his world. Only Sonic and a few other hedgehogs can use the emeralds to warp the fabric of time and space and transform into more powerful forms. Sonic remains largely unaware of the full extent of his powers.
When asked by his friendly rival Mario to visit the planet Earth, Sonic gladly agreed. He's been living in Flamingo Heights ever since, but will occasionally go back to his home world to fight Eggman.
PERSONALITY: Like his name suggests, Sonic lives life in the fast lane. He is like the wind - constantly moving. He can never stay in one place for too long before he feels the need to run and adventure. Unfortunately for some especially Mario this means that he gets bored easily. When Sonic gets bored he pulls pranks or drags people into random adventures.
Sonic is very confident. In fact, the more dangerous the situation, the more sure of himself he gets. He lives by his own sense of justice and will go out of his way to aid and protect those in need.
