That joke isn't funny anymore

*Lily has had some time to think it over, really think it over. James' knowing cadence when he chirped, "I told you so" didn't exactly make her feel better, instead she felt rather foolish to have gone on so many years without even considering the possibility of Snape fancying-loving her.

Plenty of things certainly make more sense, especially since there is a new element to Snape's never-ending hatred for James. Not to mention Snape's countless diatribes against anyone who ever fancied her at school. But the things that were still murky, like Snape joining the Death Eaters despite his apparent "love" for someone who is a prime example of the very thing that lot wish to get rid of, still don't add up.

Thoughts haven't stopped swirling for weeks about this matter, even though she knows that she should be concerned about far more important matters and not the love life of her former friend. She realises that she can't keep all her thoughts to herself or else she'd go bonkers, which is why she is currently nursing a cup of earl gray and lounging on Hestia's couch. Wrapped in thin blanket staring at the rain outside, Lily finally finishes recounting the past few weeks of this Snape saga in grave detail.*

And please don't tell me that you told me so. I feel like enough of an idiot.
