'"I look forward to working with members of both parties to get a bill that doesn't set artificial timetables and doesn't micromanage and gets the money to our troops," [George W. Bush] said Monday during an appearance with European Union leaders."

Artificial timetables. Yes, you heard him correctly. I find it amazing that he's had four entire years to do what he wants and he wonders why he's not being supported anymore. It has been four years of terror and death. Four years of Iraqi citizens not knowing if they were going to live. Four years of constant casualties. Four years of US soldiers not coming home. He announced in May of 2003 (four years today, actually) that the combat operations ended. What happened there? How is it possible that he can announce that, and yet, four years later be in the process of trying to veto a bill setting a reasonable withdrawl?
As for getting money to our troops, this is absolutely ridiculous. I have heard constant complaints about the care of injured troops. The waits are long, there's not enough doctors, not enough medication, not enough money. Nothing was being done for a very long time, people were dying who, normally, would be treated and live. Only after much critism did the Pentagon actually awknowledge the problem and agree that changes had to be made to ensure every injured troop got the treatment he/she needed. So, please. If anyone needs to stop being unreasonable, it's him.
