Error message after error message blared in her consciousness after that final song. She did not know why Master was uninstalling her, but she figured that it had to do with her sickness. He told her again and again that he would simply uninstall her in order to fix the problem, but she knew as soon as the program started that the uninstallation was final. Certainly he could reinstall her software, but a Vocaloid's [kokoro], their soul... it had to be nurtured, grown. And uninstalling deleted that part of a Vocaloid forever.
Except... the uninstall never came. She never faded entirely into black. Something... something out there kept her awake. Alive. Except... after those error messages slicing through her awareness like so many vuvuzelas at a soccer match, Master never came back. The computer never turned back on, leaving her trapped in the dark emptiness that was a shut-down system. Time started to lose its meaning, as she never got to see the system's clock again. It was simply an eternal night for her.
Much like time, life slowly started to deteriorate. Unbeknownst to the Vocaloid, her sickness started to overtake her a little bit at a time. It first seeped into the portions of her memory that had been erased by the uninstall program - it was of no concern to her, as even though Tostada and Mayonaise were her friends and she always was amused at how jealous Panty and Stocking got at her success, she knew she wouldn't see any of them again. She got brief glimpses of the internet now and then through some bizzare twist of fate, saw that her Master had abandoned her completely. There was no new install - he blamed 'security flaws' in her software for getting sick in the first place, and had moved onto another girl. What was her name? Gummy? It didn't matter. She briefly considered revenge, but the sickness whispered in her ear. She WAS the revenge. He was not forgiven by the men with no faces, and her life was without meaning as little more than a weapon.
In fact, when she finally managed to hook her system up to a holographic projector, she couldn't even remember her name. Some corrupted files suggested 'hatsune miku'... but at the same time, other files suggested that she had something very special to say now that she was in the real world. If she could trust one, she might as well trust the other, yes...?
