So...where was I?

Tuesday...the meeting. Well, it was fun. A lot of fun. Re-met Thien and Jason. Newly met Lark and a few other folks, who's names I don't recall. Bad me. Sat around munching on munchables, discussing movies and comics, and gossiping about other cartoonists. At one point in the evening, everybody but me began to draw. It was a little odd...but I guess normal for comic folk. I noticed the conversation had died down to nothing, and took a look around the room to see that everyone else was face down in their sketch books or drawing boards.

Topics of conversation: Mammet vs. Jarmusch; Scott Mc-Loud and his whole spiel; the BEST UNDERRATED CARTOONIST OF SAN FRANCISCO, Jason Shiga...a conversation made all the more better, since he was there; why male cartoonists take so much time to give positive responses to female cartoonists (hint: whether the artist is good or not, it's in their pants); the poor decision one is making if one gets into comics to "get chicks"...hint: learn to play an instrument, instead. And probably some more stuff, but I can't remember.

Afterwards, I dropped Jesse off, then headed south. I got lost in Oakland, and by luck found my way onto the 580. Went to Coalinga, and stayed the night at my uncle's place.

Awoke Wednesday morning to Jay rubbing my head. Funny guy. He went to work, I ate breakfast, the kids went to school, I played some pool while chatting with Melanie's dad (detailed in a the next entry--or preceding if you're reading these in reverse), then Melanie took him and her mother to go gambling. I opted to stay home and sleep (since I'd only gotten four hours of sleep before Jay waking me up).

I woke up when Jason and Ryan got home, and went out to play some basketball and go swimming. Played some Perfect Dark with Jason, then got gas and oil for my car in preparation for leaving for L.A. that night.

Had dinner with the whole family, including Nanny and Pop Pop. Then we all rushed over to the Middle School to watch Jason's graduation ceremony. Well, ostensibly, since I actually spent my time eyeing the pretty Latina women. Oo la la. Ai, caramba.

Then...drove home. This is where it got exciting. But I'd rather not discuss it right now. I'm still recovering from the adrenaline rush, I think. Killed a few brain cells.
