Tax Man

I just got far enough in TurboTax to figure out that I'm getting a refund. Hallelujah. Now that the pressure's off, I just need to get all the crap together so I can actually file.

Yes, Tax Day is Thursday, but if you're getting a refund, the government doesn't care if you file on time. Really. They'd like to keep your money as long as possible so they can earn interest on it, thanks so very much, and they won't bother you about filing for, oh, at least nine months to a year. Same thing goes for state governments, except even more so considering many of them (::cough:: California) are well nigh insolvent.

For people like me, who'd rather put off filing than get the refund because they're disorganized and short on time, this is very convenient. That said, the refund looks large enough that I will be chasing down the various bits of information (how much property tax did I pay last year, and how much of it is deductible?) sooner rather than later.
