Oscar thoughts
OK, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin can come back and host the Oscars again next year. They were funny and charming and seemed to be enjoying themselves to the point where I actually wanted to see more of them.
Who else wants Robert Downey Jr. and Tina Fey to start working together on a movie or a TV series or a book or a macrame project--hell, pretty much anything--as soon as humanly possible?
Was it just me or was Sarah Jessica Parker's dress really ugly and unflattering? Did QuentinTarantino's tux really fit so poorly that it barely buttoned or did someone rough him up backstage right before he went out to present? And I love Jeff Bridges, and I know he's The Dude, but what's with the "man" in every other sentence? He sounded like he'd smoked Woody Harrelson's hemp tux.
Playing "Thank Heaven for Little Girls" when Carey Mulligan and Zoe Saldana presented was a little bit creepy.
ETA: I must be watching too much "Project Runway," because the moment I saw Charlize Theron's dress, I could hear Michael Kors saying, "What were you thinking with those rosettes? 'Here are her boobs!'"
