The Autowhazzit From Hell

We finally had enough moolah to pick up the car from the mechanic today. (You know, after the alternator was fixed and they put on the death-defying tires several weeks ago.) Jeremy had one glorious morning to drive it to school (and remember how badly the brakes need fixing).

And then, as he got in to drive back home after said class, he discovered it wouldn't start. No fizzle. No cough. Just a sad electric hum.

Due to the day-long nature of Full Sail's schedules and thus, the practically always full nature of its parking lot, we were never able to give it a jump. So we don't have a clue what's wrong with it. One would think that after promising to spend a grand at their facility, the employees would have the forethought and decency to drive it around the lot once a week to prevent battery failure. Hopefully that's all it is. Or maybe just a loose wire.

While getting a ride to Target to pick up a few odds and ends (you know, like food), Jeremy said God is laughing at him. I told him it wasn't him God was laughing at. I really do think it's me. God has no cause to chortle at Jeremy's expense. Sigh.

My book still hasn't been sent...mostly due to my own selfishness. I don't want outsiders to share in the experience. It's mine. I will share it with my husband and the postal clerk, but that's it. >.<

Oh, yes. And we have nightengales here. I never noticed them last year, but the old complex had one the last month or so we lived there. Here, they're all over. And they're LOUD. Beautiful songs, but LOUD. And always right outside the window. We also have little families of ducks, but they are blessedly quiet...even if they insist on the right of way in the parking lot. :)
