It's been a long time since I've been so excited about new music. I guess what is most exciting about "Ten out of Tenn" is that it isn't just a 'band' per se, nor is it a collaboration project. I suppose it is best described as a Broken Social Scene type situation, but from Nashville.
What made this discovery so eye opening for me, was that i've been hearing a few really good artists lately - even though I agree, for some reason Grey's Anatomy was able to find them before me. Andrew Belle, Katie Herzig, Matthew Perryman Jones and of course Butterfly Boucher who i've known for a few years now.
It also turns out that these artists all belong to the musical group "Ten our of Tenn" (it also took me awhile to figure 'Tenn' was of course short for Tennesse). They sound really really good individually, but together - it's another kind of amazing.
They have 3 CD's out and also did a Christmas tour which I appreciated from what I heard from youtube. I guess this further proves that the musican pool is a huge orgy. And they all gather at one point or another at Nashville. Butterfly's 'Cinnamon and Chocolate' is my favourite.

I downloaded Ten out of Tenn's first 2 Volumes free from here: www.noisetrade.com
I recommend EVERYBODY check them out. Sweetie-pies all of them.
