... How can you be made of so much epic fail when the show is made up of so much epic win?
I find it ironic that a show with a major theme of love (of many different kinds) and understanding has an Internet fandom that's full of very harsh and "violent" fighting. Over shipping, no less.
I've been a fan of Avatar and a Kataang shipper since the show literally first premiered, and I admit to lurking on random parts of the fandom when I'm bored... But I really almost can't believe the amazing level of immaturity and stupidity of some people -- ON ALL SIDES of the fandom, including memebers of my own ship and even non-shippers.
Jeebus, people. It's a beautifully epic show, but it's still JUST a show. I know that's been said before, but I still needed to say it and get it out of my system. Ugh. And now with the Sozin's Comet book released several months before the actual finale, things are just ten times worse than before. ARGH.
Makes me glad I'm not a very active member in the avatar fandom, aside from a small handful of fan arts.
Thankfully, despite all the fan wank, I still see Avatar as one of the most enjoyable pieces of American animation I have had the good fortune to watch and enjoy. And I still look forward to the rest of the third and final season in July.
... And if you actually just read all of that, I'm impressed that anyone's reading this blog at all. XD; Also, if you have no idea what the hell I'm talking about in this post, it's probably for the best... And you probably didn't notice the two (technically four) references to Avatar in Rune Master, heh.
Lastly, if you haven't seen Avatar: The Last Airbender, I highly recommend it -- just stay out of the [shipping] fandom online for a few months.
