Speaking of writting things down I thought Id put into words a little something about Reena. There was this one time that Renna had to go to Spain for a school project and what a adventure it turned out to be. First after having to be woken up at 7AM for breakfast before her flight she consoled her mother and told her that she wouldn't starve to death without someone to fix her dinner. Her mother not being confident enough in her assurances reguarding food prepared a especially large breakfast. There was a bountifull spread consisting of Bob Evans Sausages (Renna's favorite), Eggs benedict, Waffles, and Hash Browns. Renna was saddend by the thought of going to Spain and giving up the comforts of home. She was nervous to fly such a long distance as her travels at this point were limited to places the her mother had driven her. "What if the airlines went bankrupt while she was in Spain? Would mom be able to come and pick me up?" she thought. Despite her concerns about the trip she enjoyed the wonderful breakfast which was layed out before her. The sausages were prepared exactly to her liking and filled her soul as well as her belly. The waffles were equally tastey as they were the her prefered brand from the frozen food section. She smiled at her mother for thinking so much of Renna that she would leave work early to pick up these items at the local Shop and Save. Renna savored each bite of food because they might not have these things in Spain. She was looking forward to trying new things in Europe and possibly learning to prepare some dishes by herself. Would there be someone who could show her how to make Spanish Rice? Would she be able to do it without assistance? All she knew of her destination was that once there she would be picked up by her exchange student family and taken to their home in the remote hills of Reo Duero, Spain. She had read the booklet given to her by the school and it seemed the Reo Duero was a mining town northeast of the capital Madrid. It looked like a old ciy with many cobblestone streets from the pictures and was quite a difference from her street in Pittsburgh. It was amazing she thought that they were able to build streets like that brick by brick considering that Spain didn't have the large immigrant population that supplemented the American work force in construction of roads and railroads. Surely the Spaniards had come up with a way of maintaining these roads? From her understanding of it the roads were in exceptional condition but the local govenment had no budget for such repair. It would seem that none of the peole that worked in the town actually worked in the construction or minning fields despite the vast production in those areas. Obviously they were very efficient in those things that it seemed no effort at all to operate the mines. This she felt was a key factor in her decision (prompted by her teachers) to go to Spain and study their methods. Eager to experience the world several hundred miles away and breakfast being over, she went to retrive her bags. Quickly it occured to her that she had a problem. Her bags were upstairs in her room and needed to be in the trunk of the car. How on earth was she going to find someone at this hour of morning to move her eleven bags to the car. With her mothers assistance they got out the phone book and began calling people. ------- To hear what happens next and read the other one hundred and thirty five chapters of the story stay tuned.
