This past weekend

Well, I never thought that I would be able to say that I got sunburned two days before December!

This past weekend Miyu, Chris and I all traveled to the western side of the state of Victoria and we saw many cool sites. The trip to Warrnambool (I think the spelling is right) was about 4 hours. We got to see some really neat light show that night at an old remake of a port town. I learned that whem immigration to Australia was going on there were many shipwrecks because the shore was a rocky one. So the light show was about about one of the most widely known shipwrecks that left London and they sailed for 3 whole months and were less than a days ride away from the shore of Australia when the ran into a terrible storm and crashed into a big boulder sticking up (this is AFTER they survived running into a glacier like the Titanic); only two people survived. I find it fascinating that Australia was originally used as a place to keep British prisoners. Also, we had an interesting discussion aboutb how America seems like the rebel child from Britain and Australia is the good child. We are set on doing things differently when compared to the majority of the world (driving on the right, not using the metric system, different terms for things, etc)

The next day was one of the best days here. The day was clear, sunny, and about 80 degrees. For our trip back we traveled along the Great Ocean road which is a very roundabout way of returning but it goes right along the coast of Indian Ocean. We stopped at all of the places along the road that you can go to. The most famous one is the twelve apostles. I will post the pics I took soon on my webpage. Of course, idiot me didn't put any sunscreen on and I went out and got a little burnt on the back of my neck. But I had never seen the ocean so beautiful as I did that day. It looks like the days from here on out will be about 75-95 degrees. We already had one 92 degree day last Friday, yowza! It's like I skipped winter and the summer kept going for me. I am axious to go home and have a nice snowy Christmas. It feels too wierd to see all this Xmas stuff in 80-90 degree weather. Anyway, more later!
