What a crazy two weeks it has been. I haven't had much time to write down anything, so now I'm taking the time to reflect on everything that has happened as of late.
Well, 2 weeks ago, I took a trip up to Austin to hang out with some friends and to drum. When I got back home on Sunday night, I was told by my parents that my grandfather had died. And at first, I really didn't want to believe it because it was too painful to bear the thought. We week went by and I couldn't sleep much at all. I left Tuesday afternoon for the rosary that night, and I was still in denial until I finally saw him. That was pretty harsh. He was buried the next morning, cold and somewhat rainy, and everything went smoothly. I had to leave later that day to come back to school, so in the late afternoon I left and came back. I still couldn't sleep well. What sucked more was that I had camp last week, and I had to go, despite me wanting to stay with my family. I went to the camp, and that went really great, but I couldn't get my mind off of my grandfather. The camp finished and I came back home, watched the game, hung out with the guys, and crashed out. This week has been full of tests, starting with a Music History test on Tuesday, Theory on Wednesday, and then both Ear Training and Music History yesterday. I'm just glad that today I have some time to just relax. I haven't had time to really relax since Christmas vacation. I don't have a free weekend until Spring Break, which really sucks. Next week I'm going to San Antonio for TMEAm then to Austin to drum; the following week is instrumental solo/ensemble at the campus, and then the week of Mar. 2-4 is my next camp. My schedule is pretty tight, and I'm not finding any time to really sit down and practice for my lesson and to just enjoy the day. I guess that that's life, and I just gotta deal with it. Things are looking somewhat better and tomorrow is a new day.
