“Hello?”
“Mrs. Padalecki.” Josh greeted into the phone.
“Ah! Josh dear, how is my son? I assume he is there?”
“Of course he is here, where else would he be?” Josh didn’t want for an answer. “He is still asleep.”
“I see.”
“He said he wasn’t feeling well yesterday…that’s why he left the restaurant so abruptly.”
“Did he now?” Diane asked surprised.
“Exactly what were the two of you chatting about?” Josh asked calmly.
“We were just going over some wedding details. Jared was having some issues with a bit of it.”
Josh sighed. “And were those issues sorted out?”
“Of course.”
“Because I need to know right now if he is going to cause me any resistance with this marriage so I can take care of things.”
“What are you going to do? Hit him again?”
Josh’s eyes narrowed, “How I deal with Jared is my business alone. Besides if I start having trouble from you, I’ll let loose to Jared your dirty little secret.”
Silence, then, “And what secret is that?” Diane asked in a cold voice.
“Oh, about how you pissed away all his father’s money, used up all the money that his father left him, which by the way you never told him about in the first place, and also about the tiny fact that you are now completely broke and your only life line will be my money once I have married your son.”
“Well then your dirty little secret would come out about the fact that you gave me access to the account his father left him in the first place in exchange for me introducing him to you so you could get him into your bed!”
“Don’t threaten me Mrs. Padalecki, you won’t like the outcome!” Josh growled.
A sigh, “I can assure you Josh, that Jared will marry you. I will personally make sure of it. He doesn’t have the heart to disobey his mother.”
“Good.” Josh smiled. “See that it stays that way.” He hung up and made his way back into the bedroom where Jared was sleeping peacefully. He removed all his clothes before he crawled into bed behind Jared. He pressed kisses to the back of Jared’s neck as he gently rolled Jared over onto his stomach and laid his body over the still sleeping Jared. “Wake up Jared.”
Jared groaned as he was pulled from his deep sleep. He opened his eyes and tried to sit up to see what had disturbed him but realized he couldn’t. Awareness came quickly to him as he became aware of Josh’s body on top of his and the hand that was sneaking into the back of his pants. He gasped as fingers slide between his cheeks to rub his hole.
“I want you so bad.” Josh stated as he quickly sat up and pulled Jared’s pants down and off his legs, throwing them into a heap on the floor. He then reached out and grabbed the lube under his pillow and spread some on his fingers. “I’m gonna fuck you.”
Jared just laid there, he knew if he told Josh no again that Josh would hit him and fuck him anyway. Jared hoped if he was compliant that Josh would be gentle and not cause him pain like Josh seemed to love to do with rough sex. He groaned quietly as he felt two fingers breach him and move in and out quickly. He buried his head in the pillow and fisted the sheets on both sides of him as the fingers were pulled out and he could hear Josh tearing open a condom packet.
Jared wasn’t the least bit aroused; mostly due to the medication and partly because it was Josh. Maybe he could just pretend that it was someone else fucking him…someone like Jensen. Then maybe he could find release, but he doubted it. Since taking the medication, sex had held no interest for Jared. Josh didn’t seem to care one way or the other as long as he himself got off.
He arched up as Josh slammed into him and fucked him with a hard fast pace. He could hear Josh grunting on top of him. Jared buried his face back into the pillow and prayed for it to be over quick.
After a few minutes Josh changed the angle of his thrust. “So good! Oh god, you’re so tight…so sweet.” When Josh could feel fire pooling in his own groin, he speed up his thrusts. He grunted loudly as he came in the body beneath him. Once the waves of pleasure were minimal he slumped down onto Jared to catch his breath.
After a few minutes, Josh raised his head and licked the back of Jared’s neck before he raised himself up slightly so he could prod Jared to turn on his back. Once that was done and he had gotten rid of the condom he laid his body back down on Jared’s.
“I have to go away for a business trip.” Josh stated as he combed through Jared’s sweaty curls with his fingers.
“Oh?” Jared asked. He was slightly happy by the fact. “For how long?”
“A week.” Josh said as he kissed down Jared’s neck.
Jared turned his head away from the kisses as he tried to keep a happy smile from his face. A week without Josh was going to be heaven.
“So I have to get ready to leave and meet Richard at the air field.” Josh said as he rolled off Jared’s warm body and headed to the bathroom to clean up.
Jared laid there for the next twenty minutes as Josh got ready and moved around the place to gather his paperwork. When Josh was all packed he walked back over to Jared and sat down on the bed next to him. He leaned over and gently brushed the hair off Jared’s forehead. “I’ll miss you so much. But I’ll be back soon and then we can concentrate on our upcoming wedding.”
Jared kept his face free from emotion and just nodded his head. He accepted Josh’s kiss when Josh leaned over him to give him a goodbye kiss. Then he was gone and Jared sighed in relief.
Once Jared heard the front door close he shot out of bed and headed straight for the shower. He turned the water as hot as he could get it and started to rid his body of the evidence that Josh had ever been in him and on top of him. He stood there for a good thirty minutes letting the hot water cascade over his body.
Once he felt clean enough he stepped out of the shower and went through the motions of getting ready for the day.

Jared was sitting on the couch bored. It was still only morning and he had nothing to do for the day. Jared wondered what Jensen was doing at that moment. Suddenly Jared thought of something, he shot off the couch and was at his door before his thought was finished. He quickly stepped out into the hallway and in front of Jensen’s door where he gave a light knock, hoping the man wasn’t sleeping still.
The door opened and he saw Jensen’s very much awake face. “Hey Jared!” Jensen smiled.
Jared was caught off guard by how beautiful Jensen looked in sweats and a t-shirt at that moment. “Uhhh…hi…good morning. I was just wondering if you might…did I come at a bad time? Because I can come back later.”
Jensen shook his head quickly, “No, please come in, I was actually just finishing up sorting through some photos.” He lied. He had really only been going through his photos for about twenty minutes, but he would gladly interrupt that for some time with his beautiful neighbor. Once he had the door closed behind Jared, he asked, “So what were you wondering?”
“Well I thought since your new to the area and all, that maybe you might like to go out and see the town a bit…with me.” Jared said. Not sure exactly how that sounded, Jared rushed to explain. “I mean…I have nothing to do today and I was going to go walk around a bit because it is so nice out and I thought you might like to come too…if you’re not busy…because it really is a nice town to walk around…I mean the parks and gardens and all...good for taking photos…” Jared trailed off. God, could he sound any more lame.
Jensen smiled at Jared’s babbling. “Yeah, thanks. I would like that. I haven’t gotten a chance to get out much yet and having you as a tour guide would be wonderful.”
Jared smiled, relieved. “Oh, great.”
“Just let me change my clothes. I’ll be right out.” He called as he went into his bedroom.
Jared sat down on Jensen’s couch to wait and took a look around him. The place was still packed with boxes yet unpacked. Jared smiled and shook his, he wondered if Jensen even planned to unpack or if he could just get by with his camera.
“Ok, I’m ready.” Jensen announced as he came out with jeans and a nice t-shirt on. “So where to?” Jensen asked as he swung his camera over his shoulder.
Jared shrugged, “I thought we might just walk around a bit…to wherever.”
Jensen nodded. “Sounds good to me.” He said as he ushered Jared to the door.
The pair of them walked a few blocks from their apartment complex to the city center. Along the way Jared was telling Jensen all about the huge carnival that came through town every year.
“This place is pure madness man, I’m telling you. For a whole week you have people walking around dressed up all funky and clowns all over the place…that part is just creepy!” Jared explained.
Jensen looked at Jared and laughed, “Creepy?”
Jared gave him a look that shouted ‘duh’! “Clowns? Don’t tell me you like those freaky things! Man, they could give grown men nightmares, with their big feet and painted smiles…I mean no one is happy all the time…it’s just not natural.”
“Oh, so I take it you stay clear of the city center during that week then?” Jensen asked as he continued to walk leisurely beside Jared.
“Nah, Chad and I use to go every year…we just stayed clear of the clowns.” Jared replied.
“Use to?” Jensen questioned.
Jared looked startled for a split second, “Oh yeah…well Josh thinks carnivals are below him…you know too childish or whatever.”
Jensen could tell he was getting into uncomfortable territory with Jared again so he wisely backed out. “Want some coffee before we head to the park?”
Jared smiled, “Yeah, I know just the place; I got a connection with the owner.” Jared teased, knowing that Jensen knew he worked with Chad.
Jensen shook his head laughing and followed Jared over to the small coffee shop. The place wasn’t too busy at this time, there were a few couples sitting at the tables drinking coffee.
Jensen watched as Jared walked up to the counter and was greeted warmly by the man behind it. He came up next to him and Jared turned and gestured to the man.
“This is my best buddy, Chad, and Chad this is my new neighbor Jensen.” Jared introduced.
Chad turned his eyes and quickly looked over the man. He looked like he was a few years older than him and Jared but seemed like a decent guy. “Hi there. So Jared’s dragging you around the town is he?”
Jensen smiled, “I haven’t had much of a chance to see anything yet.”
“Jensen’s been cooped up in his apartment…he is a photographer…a really good one too.” Jared cut in.
“He’s exaggerating.” Jensen added.
“No I’m not!” Jared laughed turning to Jensen.
Chad watched as the two men smiled at each other and his eyebrows rose in surprise. He suddenly realized that Jared had smiled more in the past five minutes then he had in the past five weeks. Chad took a few minutes to study his friends face and could clearly see that Jared liked Jensen…really liked him.
“Chad? Hello?” Jared waved a hand in front of his spaced out friend.
“Huh, sorry?” Chad asked quickly.
“We want coffee.” Jared stated like he was taking to a five year old.
Chad rolled his eyes and went off to get two cups.
“I’m going to the bathroom before we head out.” Jensen told Jared.
Jared watched Jensen walk away and when he turned back to look at Chad he jumped slightly to discover his friend leaning on the counter right in front of him. “What?”
“Jensen seems nice.” Chad commented.
“He is.” Jared smiled.
Chad nodded slowly, “And Josh likes him also?” Chad asked although he knew the answer.
The smile slipped off Jared’s face and he started to fidget with his shirt sleeve. “I’m not sure if they have met.” Jared lied. “Josh is on a business trip right now.”
Chad knew Josh wouldn’t like Jared hanging out with Jensen, in fact Josh didn’t like Jared hanging out with him. He knew that if Jared didn’t work in his coffee shop then he would probably never see his friend.
It was no secret that Chad hated Josh. Chad hated everything about Josh, his money, his arrogance, his temper, and mostly how he treated Jared. He didn’t know much about their relationship because Jared would never talk about Josh much, but Chad had seen his friend become more closed off and timid over the past year and he knew Josh was the reason; the reason for the bruises too. But when ever he tried to bring up the subject Jared would brush him off and change the subject or flat out just leave the room.
“Jared…” Chad started to say but stopped when Jared pushed away from the counter.
“Hey Jensen, ready to go?” Jared asked as he saw Jensen step out of the bathroom, wanting to get away from Chad before he could bring up Josh again.
“Yeah.” Jensen said with slight hesitation, he could tell from the looks on Chad and Jared’s face that he had just interrupted something.
“Great! See you around Chad.” Jared waved to his friend as he walked out the doors with Jensen right behind him.

The pair had been walking around for the better part of the day, taking in the sights. Jensen had quite a few pictures taken; even some of Jared when the other man wasn’t looking.
“I’m tired. Let’s chill for a while.” Jensen suggested as he made his way over to a bench.
Jared nodded and followed Jensen to the bench. He was surprised that he himself wasn’t all that tired. He was suddenly shocked to realize that he had forgotten to take his pills this morning and yet he didn’t feel he need them at all right now. Jared smiled as he realized being with Jensen had something to do with it. He hadn’t felt this happy or content in a long time.
“What are you smiling about?” Jensen’s question brought Jared back to the present.
Jared shook his head and shrugged. “Just having a good day I guess.”
Jensen raised his eyebrow, “Don’t have a lot of those?”
Jared shrugged and looked away.
Jensen sighed, “You know, I know I haven’t known you very long, but I get the feeling that you haven’t smiled like that in a while.” He saw that Jared’s body stiffened at those words. “You said you’ve been with Josh for a while now, doesn’t he make you smile? Does he make you happy?”
Jared looked at Jensen and stuttered, “I….I…I don’t want to talk about Josh.”
Jensen relented. He didn’t want to end up pushing Jared away. “What do you want to talk about?”
“You.” Jared said thinking quickly, wanting to steer away from Josh. “Tell me about your pictures…I meant to ask the other day…your recent pictures; they seem…” Jared trailed off at a loss for the right word.
“Boring? Terrible? Ugly?” Jensen supplied.
Jared shook his head quickly, “No! I didn’t mean…”
Jensen laughed, “Its okay. They are those things. I’m surprised you noticed actually. It’s why I moved here.”
Jared shook his head and smiled; confused, “What?”
“I needed a change of scenery. I got out a relationship a while back. It was okay…the relationship I mean, but we just kind of realized one day we didn’t really love each other like we use to. So we decided to just remain friends. But the damage was done being surrounded by all those memories and seeing the same faces everyday. I couldn’t really concentrate on my photos anymore; they kept getting worse and worse as you could tell. So here I am in a new place, hoping to get some inspiration. You know…it’s my second chance.”
Jared nodded slowly. A second chance; god, he wanted one of those too. “And?” When Jensen looked at him, he specified. “Have you found your new inspiration yet?”
Jensen stared at Jared and thought for a minute, “I’ll have to get back to you on that; it’s too early to tell.”
Jared was captured by Jensen’s eyes that seemed to pierce his soul. He couldn’t look away if he had wanted to. He felt himself leaning toward Jensen, his eyes darting back and forth between Jensen’s eyes and his lips. It all seemed like slow motion for Jared. Jensen was leaning toward him, his eyes slowly closing. Jared felt his heart speed up, his hands begin to sweat, he closed his eyes right before his lips made contact with Jensen’s. The kiss was soft and gentle, no tongues, just simple, chaste kisses.
“Shit.” Softly spoken by Jensen interrupted Jared’s bliss. He quickly pulled away and saw Jensen looking at him with guilt.
“I’m so sorry Jared. I just got caught up in the moment.” Jensen instantly regretted his words when he saw hurt flash across Jared’s eyes. “I mean, I like you, but I know you’re with Josh and I don’t want to cause trouble.”
Jared wanted to cry, but even more he wanted Jensen to kiss him again. He didn’t want Josh! He hated him so much right that moment. He wanted to be happy; he wanted to feel safe and loved. He wanted Jensen.
Jensen could see that Jared was lost in thought, but he quickly became alarmed when tears started to fall from Jared’s eyes. “Jared! What’s wrong? Are you okay?”
Jared jumped up from the bench and wiped his eyes quickly. “Nothing…I just have to…to go.” Jared quickly walked away, ignoring Jensen’s calls. He didn’t know what to do. He wanted Jensen, but he couldn’t leave Josh. Oh God, Josh would kill him if he found out about that kiss.
So Jared did the only thing he could at that moment and ran. He didn’t know where he was headed but he just kept running.
