Newsflash
Got a new job. Signing the contract on Monday. Pay should be around 8k gross and the job is supposed to be the next important step in my career. I'm going to be the IT manager for a small law firm in Tel Aviv, a 20 minute walk from my place. A lot of responsibility but also much to learn so I'm pretty excited, as much as one can be excited by computers (or work in general). If it works out I'll get my drivers license and perhaps take up a jazz/rock teacher and/or some vocal lessons. Damn good timing cuz I was on my way to the unemployment office when I got the call saying I got the job.
Yay.
I also saw the world premiere of the Opera in one act "Animal Farm" by Matan Porat at the academy for musical studies. Not bad although it was too modern for my taste. I expected or at least hoped for something more melodic, and one of the lead characters had really bad diction and no subtitles so it was hard to understand her. Great voice though and excellent technique, not to mention the acting. Saw some great talents though and that really got me going. Also encouraging Ren to pick up on her vocal training since she's got an amazing voice and it's just a waste that she's not doing anything with it. She could so be a pro.
