Before I start, I'd like to say something:
Happy birthday to my wife-to-be snugglebunny sugarplum honeycake!
Glad we're celebrating your birthday together :) I'm happy that you liked your gift and flowers, but I hope you'll loooove the wonderful dinner I'll cook for you! (Oh crap, I left the recipe at home! ) Date mamaya ha? ;)
Scout and I have been very busy working on our little business, so I haven't posted in a while. Plus, I now blog for a living, which makes blogging for fun less fun. I love my work, but when I spend countless hours each day typing, the last thing I wanna do to relax is to spend countless hours each day typing.
Work stuff:
I now blog for
Pimp Your Work,
College Startup, and
Smart Page Rank. I still have my other writing jobs, but I don't do them anymore because we've hired 3 very talented people to do them. I have yet to hear from Freelance Switch whether I got the blogging job for them or not. They liked my article and made me revise it, but they've been pretty busy. I want that job because it pays the most and it's a blog I really love reading.
Scout and I have a new (and better!) web design client. She also has some pro bono projects going on. I'm quite proud of myself for securing the deal with the new client, but it was Scout's ready contracts, worksheets, and documents that made everything flow professionally.
I may (I haven't heard back from the school yet) be working on Kalayaan College's crappy website for a huge tuition discount.
Art Stuff:
News of upcoming group exhibits for the rest of the year. Can't give details yet (not because it's ubersecret, but because I don't have them). I just know that one will be in the UP Faculty Center and the other one will be at the Cubicle Gallery. These things may or may not push through, and my fate is now in the hands of one prof and a curator I've never met. Still, ClassmateNina and I will be proposing an exhibit in an artgallry/internet cafe. But we haven't talked that out yet because we still have finals on the 22nd.
Personal stuff:
I just had my ultrasound this morning and I do not have kidney stones! But I still have to check with my doctor to see if I'm 100% back to perfect health. For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, the week after I got my amoebiasis, my pee was burning and had blood. Went to the doctor, it went away. Now, it's back. But I hope that this time, it's gone away for good.
Today I got a new savings account. When I asked the teller about their living trust funds and asked where I could put my retirement fund other than a time deposit, the teller laughed at me. Laughed. At my retirement fund. Why? Because I'm only 24 and I have a retirement fund. Well, she's laughing now, but years from now when I've accumulated a shitload of compound interest, let's see whose laughing then! I'll be retiring early and vacationing in Fiji with my wife. If this person actually knew anything about the practical applications of personal finance, she wouldn't have laughed at me.
