New community (HP slash)

I've created a new community on livejournal for Sirius/Lucius slashers (we are so few it seems). Join and participate. sirius_luciusFor the Alexander people, right now I'm trying to get used to my new work and school schedule (as well as figure out how I'm going to do 3 papers, 2 book reviews and 3 presentations). Give me a bit and I'll be posting Alexander ( Read more... )

I'm so glad you skipped over the entire HP slash thing. I was hesitant on how to explain that to a professor. I wasn't sure how to explain my slash tendencies should you have asked at the conference...LOL!

Ebay had an interesting replica but it was too 'antiqued'. Probably wouldn't be too bad if it wasn't so...brown.

Oh by the way, have a question to ask of you? That William Shatner show? Is there anyway I can send you a tape or $ for a tape and you can make me a copy? My professor laughed herself sick when she heard about it and was interested in maybe showing it to the graduate class. I did my presentation last Thursday on Alexander in fiction (used you and Dr. Borza's handouts with credit!)...sparked quite a debate on how Alexander is seen by historians, writers, moviemakers, etc. If I don't get top marks for that, I'll murder her! LOL!

Oh and can you send Dr. Loftus info on the conference, even though it's too late to submit anything? Her email is ariel.loftus@wichita.edu

I have only a vague notion of what 'slash' is -- mostly what I've gathered from reading LJs.

I'm writing back to Dr. Loftus tonight, with information. I've also been in contact with an old school buddy of mine, up at St. Olaf's, on the possibility of organizing a specifically Greek panel for next year -- maybe even two, if we can get the participation. Last year we did a professorial classical panel and then another with grad students. So we'll definitely be looking for participants. I'm willing to chair the panel, and can probably poke colleagues around here for papers, and divide down the panel(s), depending on what we get. The more participation, the more specific the panels can be. Twould be cool if we could get Greek, Roman and grad students. We shall see.
