and 3 semesters to go. This semester has had a wonderfully mind-^&#*ing start. I had heard stories of how bad the education department could be, mostly it was about insulting the Latin students. The advisor I was placed with initially thought I was an English student. They cancelled one section of a class I was in (Foundations of Education) so I had to scramble to get into the other section for class the next day. I get to this class and the professor spends the entire class talking about himself, and in fact spends most of the next class doing the same thing. He also refuses to call me by my real name. He's making an effort to learn everyone else's name, but to him I'm Latin-man. Every class he has thought up a latin phrase for me to translate. They are always easy but I really don't like being singled out every time. The most flabergasting moment, though, also came right before classes started. My Reading/Writing Content practicum didn't have an instructor, place, date or time and it was 2 days before classes started. Just when I was about to email the assistant dean I recieve an email, from another assistant dead, saying that it had been brought to his attention that the class did not have anything. So we missed the first day of the class. The next week, when we finally meet for the class, they still do not have a professor. The guy they have filling in, who may very well be our professor all year, said that this class wasn't supposed to happen this semester. In fact it usually happens in the fall. Someone decided to put it in the spring semester and before anyone realized we had all signed up. This has only been in the first 2 weeks of classes... *twitch*
