Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix!

I loved this movie. I loved HP4, too, but this one renewed my love for HP like whoa. I sat in the cinema like a little kid, full of wonder. All the actors were great, and all the changes from the book *worked*.

1. CAPSLOCK Harry was mostly absent, instead we got depressed!Harry, but the mood of isolation and confusion was definitely there.

2. Ron and Hermione were very much in the BG, but I loved how the "love saves Harry from Voldemort's possession" scene in the Atrium of the Ministry emphasized his friendship with them. Movieverse still ships Harry/Hermione like whoa. Neville was surprisingly present, whereas Ginny was hardly noticeable, which is fine with me: I dislike Ginny rather a lot.

3. Cho was exactly as dull as in the books :D I loved the switch they did, though, having her betray the DA instead of some nobody character. It would have made book!Cho much more interesting. The aftermath of the kiss, with the trio, was gold. Friendship is one of the strongest parts of both the books and the movies.

4. Luna! Prettier than I imagined Luna, but a charismatic and cute actress - charmingly tragic and quirky. She and Harry were very, very sweet together.

5. The Order... was there. I always thought the Order was sort of useless.

6. Dumbledore rocked. I think over the last couple of books and movies he has become one of my favourite characters.

7. Sirius... aw man. This movie made me love Sirius again. He's become a difficult character, and his death was of course expected but... Gary Oldman's Sirius grew on me. And he and Lupin were totally married. There was a little snippet of a scene of Harry and Sirius hugging and Lupin standing next to them with a goofy, happy smile. Loved that.

8. Bellatrix... yeah. Didn't like her giggling. She seemed a lot... weaker and less threatening than in the books.

9. Umbridge was too amusing to be as hateful as she was in the books. The scene where the centaurs dragged her off was pretty chilling - everybody in the cinema laughed. Clearly they didn't know their mythology.

10. Armani!Voldemort is love. And the dialogue between him and Dumbledore - oh yeah. You could see that Voldemort feared DD. Armani!Draco is... *snort*.

11. Rapper!Dudley was awesomely lame. Petunia's clothes were... disturbing. Oh, and did everyone in Hogwarts listen to music, or what? Awesome.

12. Snape... completely inscrutable. I think they weren't sure yet if he was evil or not, although I guess it doesn't make much difference with a guy like Snape. Young!Snape was pure fic fodder - pretty. And AR is still hot, even though he's way too old.

There was a wonderful lack of cheesiness in this movie. A first for this series.

Fun. Lots and lots of it.
