hooray for listening to the turing test. i like it a lot, although it's not as good as some other things simon guerrier has done (i think) and not as good as THE VERY BEST liberator chronicles (that'd be false positive and incentive). but yes! it's good. guerrier is really good at that format, and at doing emotions. and also - avon and vila! together again. and the scenario is something designed to appeal to me, really. counterfeit isn't a very good example of the companion chronicle format in that it has blake narrating stuff he couldn't possibly see, but i like it a lot because of feelings...

i am getting the impression that you haven't listened to many companion chronicles from this - you should, because the best ones are some of the best things big finish have ever done, i think. yes, definitely a strange format, but i find i really like the way it allows you first person narrative (more than i do in fic, actually. i think because in fic you could have a close third person with thoughts in it, but in an audio play you never would - plus, you can get the actor reading their thoughts and it sounds really plausible, whereas a lot of first person narration in fic doesn't play the voice as strongly as you need to remind yourself that you're in avon's head... i think. possibly) as well as getting a good dialogue between two characters if you want it. anyway - i have companion chronicles recs for you as well at some point! and probably some more liberator chronicles i want to push on you...

also - it's odd that you would say that about paul darrow. i have some strongly worded thoughts about how paul darrow's voice has aged (or rather, the way his performance is now so different - i think it's at its best in these early ones), but the blake's 7 cast/doctor who cast voice link from my head is gareth thomas/colin baker. for some reason, my head hears the sixth doctor every time blake says anything until i can get into the swing of the audio.

I already watched Headhunter and Assassin! Both were awesome, especially Headhunter (and especially the fact that it's called Headhunter even though there is no headhunter... it should be called Head in a Box, or Headless Homicidal Android, but that'd be a giveaway, I guess). But still, Headhunter is definitely one of my favourite Blake eps. And they nearly like each other in this one, too! They sit around in the grass together, at least. Assassin had Avon being nearly sold to Servalan at a slave auction and then being surprisingly nice to the fake First Doctor but Cancer was a bit... eh, and besides, didn't we already do this plot twist in S1? Still, also a good episode. And Soolin finally got some lines.

But - I listened to Counterfeit late last night, and I was nearly asleep already, so I couldn't concentrate on picturing Blake instead of Six and it was STRANGE. Like, if I had them on the phone, I couldn't tell them apart. And the strangest thing is that in some places Blake even had lines that wouldn't have been OOC for Six. But then it had Travis as Avon and Jenna as Servalan and everything was wonderful - though it would have been so, so awesome on screen.

I've only listened to three CCs - one with Romana I, one with Leela and one with Jamie and Zoe, I think. Maybe I forgot some, but not many in any case.
