Summary: Dean Winchester doesn't need to introduce himself anymore.

Introductions are everything. With the right introduction, the right handshake and smile, the confident and self-assured attitude, you can get into anywhere.

He's been a park ranger, environmental study major, Homeland Security officer, US marshal, med student, detective, alarm company rep, TV scout, grief counselor, insurance investigator...

...and he's a high school dropout with only a GED and a give'-em-hell attitude.

Who is he? It depends on the day. Sometimes, he's a classic rock star like John Bonham or Jimmy Page, and other times, he's a TV star like Todd Stiles. Very rarely, he's Dean Winchester.

But no matter what name he goes by, he always has that certain attitude that demands immediate attention and entrance to private places by the girl he's flirting with or the man he's winning the respect of.

Dean Winchester knows that introductions are everything. Until the day you no longer need them.

He feels like he was suddenly plucked from the fish pond of America and dropped into a wide universe filled with things he didn't think existed. He knew there was a Hell, but he never thought there was a Heaven. But Heaven knew about him.

It's a little overwhelming when he actually stops and thinks about it, so he tries not to. He and Sam were “destined” to do this; they were born to be the vessels of Michael and Lucifer, to fight out their differences when the day of the Apocalypse arrived.

Dean never really liked to think about destiny. He always felt like he was free, but as he realizes that Heaven has been waiting for him and Sam to be born for a few thousand years, the moment that rogue cherub lets slip that Heaven was at work in the union of their parents, it all falls into place.

Heaven knows everything about him, and it scares the Hell out of him.

Not even the stuff like Heaven knowing just who he did last summer, or going to Hell because of the things he's thought and said, but big stuff. They know who he is. In fact, the angels come looking for him these days. So do the demons. And the hunters. It feels like everyone knows him now.

Raphael: that's a name even he's heard before, and he's about as cultured as a Texas fry-up. And suddenly the angel actually exists, and he's standing right in front of Dean, and the angel's telling him that he knows exactly who he is.

It wipes the snarky, sarcastic look right from his face.

Some of the little freedom he had in this life, the ability to be a different person every day of the week and let the lies roll glibly from his tongue like droplets of sweet honey perfectly formed to ensnare the listener... all that has suddenly been snatched from him when he realizes that both Heaven and Hell know him, the hunters know him, and the only ones who don't know him don't really matter anyway, now that Hell is rising and Heaven descending.

He doesn't need to introduce himself now.
