Figure skating makes one do weird things. Like staying up until 6 am to watch the ladies' short program from beginning to end. To see the wonderful Yu-Na Kim perform, and to see the not so wonderful Kiira Korpi fall repeatedly on her arse. Another sleepless night between Thu and Fri coming up... Rooting for Yu-Na to win gold. Not that there even is serious competition.
Funny thing is, despite being skating aficionado since 8 years, I still can't tell jumps such as flips and axels apart, and the scoring system goes way over my head. But who cares of the technicalities. The combination of pretty dresses, music and liquid movements on ice just gets me every time. Pure aesthetics.
On another note, recently played pool for the second time in my life (first time was lightyears ago). Didn't suck quite so bad as I thought I would. In fact, I sucked so moderately that some people even want me in their team next time :D
Also, Astanga yoga tomorrow morning. I like it. After an hour of weird postures and breathing exercises one feels so good and relaxed it's awesome. The best part for me is lying motionless on a mattress in the darkened room. Ask me why.
