It was just an ordinary day, cloudy and a bit windy. The chocolate shop already closed and I was sweeping the floor when the annoying 'ding!' was heard on the door. I took a deep breath. Annoying customer who can't read the 'CLOSE' sign, I guess. I turn around, ready to spat, but...
It was that customer, the one who gave me a Valentine's Day chocolate. Well, it's not my fault when my heart started a rampage. The first five minutes was passing like a silent movie. Nothing to hear and all he did was pulled one of the chair and sit. Then silence, we're not moving at all.
And then the manager came out, ready to go home.
"Eh? Finish yet, Ruki? Should I help?" she stopped.
"N-no, Manager-san, I'm fine. Just... a bit more."
"Okay, I'll wait for you outside."
"A-anou... Manager-san, I don't think I will took your car tonight... mmm..." I shifted on my spot, throwing a slight glance to the one who sitting on the corner of the shop. The manager followed my glance and smiling,
"Oh, I see. See you tomorrow, Ruki~" then she left. I don't know why I said that to the manager, it's not like that customer will walk me home or something. I don't even know why he was here. Or... do I?
I swept the floor and cleaned up the shop, awkward set-up filled the room and I don't know what to say. I don't know his motive and I know his eyes watching me in silence.
I finish with the shop and grabbed my bag, he stood up and walk outside. I pulled down the security reel and lock the shop. Outside getting more windy and chill. I found him stood beside the shop door, waiting.
"S-sorry... but may I ask you something?" I speak up, finally.
"Sure."
"Are you going to walk me home?"
"Isn't that what you want when you ask your manager to go without you?" he smiled, though I can't interpret what his smiles means.
"Well... I, uh...."
"Come on, Ruki. I'll walk you home." He winked slightly, waiting for me to walk first. I try to give him a normal smile, but my lower lip stubbornly stuck up on my clenched teeth. But I start to walk, alright. He followed, walking beside me.
"Mmm... t-thank you..."
"My name is Reita."
