Would you care to watch Peony Pavilion this coming week (or Tianlun - or both!)? I'd love to get your thoughts on the first while you're still here in person. :P

Oh dear. Movie day and I think the tea house are just not going to happen. I got back from Puli to find out that I have an abstract due for my first conference, August 3rd... which is really kicking it in gear that I *have* to go down to the Film Archives before I leave, and there's another conference that's convening at Academica Sinica next Monday. ACK.
OVERLOAD.
I've also been roped into working on Friday, which was the day that I was going to take Bowdu to the animal quarantine office on Roosevelt to do his final bit of paperwork.
I say we get up early and do *both* the Jade Market and National Palace Museum on Saturday.
I'm hitting up the archives tomorrow and Thursday morning, then doing Animals Taiwan stuff in the afternoon. Friday is Bowdu + work day, and then the weekend comes... Monday is conference day, and so at this rate, the earliest we can do Cali is Saturday between Jade Market and NPM, or Tuesday...
There was this awesome episode of Duck Tales where Gyro invented a stopwatch that literally stopped time. And the Beagle Brothers stole it and of course used it for their own nefarious purposes, emptying out Scrooge McDuck's giant vault of money... anyway, I always knew that if it wasn't guaranteed that such an invention would fall into the hands of evildoers, such a contraption would be widely available now. *cry* Oh how I want that time-stopping stopwatch...
Oh, do you still wanna go to the AT facility with me? Say, on Thursday? I'll see how it goes on Wednesday and maybe we can figure something out.
A time stopping stopwatch would be lovely, wouldn't it? :P So much stuff, so little time ... so little time ...
Sure, Thursday works for me (afternoon, I assume?). I'm just going to take Friday off to deal with my visa crap, lay in bed, and read poetry. And pack, so I can get R. to lug over the big suitcase to Ryan's apt., since I don't think I'll be able to wrassle it alone (scratch that, I know I won't be able to). This anthology is great, if a bit spotty for the *poetic* quality of the translation (DAMN YOU, Stanford University Press - this is the problem, the books are so damn expensive but so fabulous. Curses upon Stanford!)
