Whale Rider was really good, I thought. It was a nice little story, and the heroine was such a pretty little thing. Lovely, really. Likable characters, and kickass music to boot :)
I saw a review of Dirty Pretty Things on Ebert and Roeper... it looks pretty good. I want to see it. There is also a movie I saw something about a film called Spider, with Ralph Fiennes and Miranda Richardson, about a man with schizophrenia (sp?), that looks dark and interesting as well.
Oh yeah, and also a little film called May which is supposedly a horror film. Ebert loved it, thought it was really spooky and wonderful, Roeper thought it was just weird and not the least bit scary. Maybe worth checking into to see. :)
i saw a preview for "spider" at burns court, when i saw "the pianist" there! they also had a poster up in the lobby, with a review quote that compared it to "memento". it might be good- but for some reason i don't enjoy watching ralph fiennes. :(

I've taken to the foreign film aisle recently. I wonder when Good-bye Lenin comes out?
