Visitors From Another Planet! ..errr.. I mean Island
The visit with the in-laws was great. We had such a full week that it felt like it just flew by. I told my M.I.L. that next time we should plan to do nothing and sit around the house staring at each other so it would feel like they had been here a while.
Monday 4/10: They flew in and arrived at the house in the evening. They brought gifts, food, and drink. Barcardi Reserva - not exported from Puerto Rico, so I only get it when I go there, or they come here.
Tuesday 4/11: Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia - dinner at Miyabi
Wednesday 4/12: Went to Maggie Valley and Waynesville - spent the night in a hotel
Thursday 4/13: Had a great yummy breakfast at the hotel (Comfort Inn FTW) and spent the rest of the day in Cherokee Indian Reservation. Dinner at Sagebrush
Friday 4/14: Spent the day walking Main Street of Greenvile, walked across Freedom Bridge, spent time by the river while the kids played in the water. Ate dinner at Blue Ridge Brewing Co. and afterwards Main Street was closed to car traffic and we had a blues and jazz festival. I had a cigar and 5 pints of stout.
Saturday 4/15: Had my friend John bring his boat and took my F.I.L. fishing. F.I.L. caught the first fish. F.I.L and me returned to the riverside downtown and had another cigar.
Sunday 4/16: Went to the Biltmore house and kids had an Easter egg hunt on the front lawn. Spent the rest of the day browsing the house, shops, and winery. Dinner at Outback Steakhouse
Monday 4/17: Separate shopping. Girls to the mall and clothing stores. Guys to the pawn shops thrift shops and novelty store. Homemade dinner. Choice of Beef Mofongo or Shrimp Mofongo. I chose shrimp. Yummers!
Tuesday 4/18: Last minute souvenir shopping and relaxation day.
Wednesday 4/19: woke up at 2:30 am to drive them back to airport. Got back home at 9:30 am ... so tired.
