Summary: Junmyeon is Baekhyun’s roommate who sleepwalks every night. Baekhyun decides to follow Junmyeon’s sleeping adventures and one important incident will finally put to a stop with the nightly routine.

It was two hours past midnight that a small sound woke Baekhyun up. Baekhyun squinted his eyes to check what was happening. As Baekhyun sat up with his eyes fully opened, he saw Junmyeon walking back and forth with his eyes closed. Baekhyun watched him doing it for three times before he decided to call the attention of Junmyeon.
“Junmyeon.” Baekhyun softly called him. The reply that he got still is a walking Junmyeon.
Baekhyun tried again with by making his second attempt. “Junmyeon hyung.” This time was a little bit louder, but Junmyeon kept on walking. Baekhyun wondered why the latter is not answering to him or why the latter did not even bother to stop walking. Baekhyun hoped that his third attempt will finally work.
“Hey, Junmyeon hyung!” Baekhyun yelled at him. But to no avail. Baekhyun thought of resorting this to a different method. Baekhyun stood up and walked to the spot wherein he can block Junmyeon’s way. He watched Junmyeon coming towards him, and as Junmyeon approached towards him, Baekhyun swore to the heavens that this would put to a stop to Junmyeon’s walking. Baekhyun noticed that Junmyeon’s eyes were totally closed as the latter is walking to him.
There were a few more steps left before Junmyeon will finally reach Baekhyun. However, Junmyeon suddenly changed his direction and geared forward to Baekhyun’s bed. Baekhyun inwardly started to raise his own questions in relation to what he has witnessed moments ago.
Is Junmyeon sleepwalking?
Baekhyun went closer to Junmyeon to take a look at his state. The sleepwalker was sleeping peacefully and Baekhyun half-heartedly confirmed to himself that Junmyeon is indeed sleepwalking. Baekhyun gently carried Junmyeon’s body to transfer him back on his original sleeping spot in order not to raise further questions and for the environment not to be awkward as soon as Junmyeon wakes up in the morning.
As Baekhyun finally lied down on his bed, he pondered whether that kind of incident is going to be a one-time thing or not. Yet deep down inside, Baekhyun hoped that it will be a one-time thing.

The following night, Baekhyun’s sleep got disturbed when he hears the sound of footsteps shuffling on the floor. Baekhyun quietly rolled on the other side wherein he can see what is happening around him. As his eyes slowly opened up, he was greeted with a sight of Junmyeon sleepwalking again. He stared at Junmyeon who was walking unconsciously again. Baekhyun thought of putting the latter under his close watch yet he hoped that his roommate is not going out of their room at this hour.
Baekhyun watched over Junmyeon for fifteen minutes until Junmyeon’s sleeping “soul” told him to go back to the bed and lie down to sleep. Baekhyun went back to his original sleeping position and fished for his phone. As he opens the browser on his phone, he googled “sleepwalking” and read a lot of things about it.
Among the facts about sleepwalking that Baekhyun has read, the ones that struck him the most was that (1) sleepwalkers are asleep and (2) sleepwalkers do not remember what had happened to them because they are asleep. Baekhyun placed his phone back on the bed and before he went back to sleep, he realized that Junmyeon will never remember anything that he did for the last two nights.

The new nightly routine for Baekhyun was bound to happen. He woke up with the sound of their room door opening. Junmyeon, who was sleepwalking again, got out of their room. Baekhyun quickly stood up to see what his sleepwalking roommate is up to again.
Junmyeon slowly walked his way to a convenience store with Baekhyun tailing after him. Baekhyun kept his gap away from Junmyeon in order for the latter not be suspicious of him. When Baekhyun noticed that his roommate is planning to get inside the convenience store, he was in a state of panic as to what he is supposed to do in order for Junmyeon not to get embarrassed.
The moment Junmyeon steps inside the convenience store, Baekhyun tailed after the former closely. He wondered if Junmyeon will get an item for purchase, and with that thought he realized that he did not bring his wallet. Baekhyun was determined to go out of the convenience store with Junmyeon still empty-handed since he assumed that his roommate probably did not even brought his wallet too.
Junmyeon slowly walked around the aisle in the convenience store and Baekhyun made sure that they will not cause a ruckus at the store. Baekhyun followed Junmyeon for a few minutes roaming around the store until they both got out from the store with few people staring at them.
Junmyeon slowly walked his way back to his room and as he arrived inside he quickly lied down on the bed as if nothing weird has happened. Baekhyun heaved a sigh of relief as nothing bad happened to Junmyeon.

Baekhyun was following Junmyeon again on his new sleepwalking adventure. Everytime his roommate encounters an intersection, Baekhyun was nervous. Baekhyun exerted his effort to keep Junmyeon safe in crossing the street everytime. There were times that Baekhyun would softly tap Junmyeon to stop him from walking when they cannot cross the street yet. Sometimes Baekhyun has to hold Junmyeon’s wrist to stop him, however, Junmyeon does not know that Baekhyun was beside him because he is sleeping.
Junmyeon took Baekhyun to a playground and that amused Baekhyun. Junmyeon walked around each equipment found at the playground until he finally settled himself at the swing. Junmyeon sat down on the swing and slowly rocked it a bit. That scene brought more amusement to Baekhyun and he formulated his own thought that this is perhaps how Junmyeon sleeps every night, which is going on an adventure.
Baekhyun has no idea about Junmyeon’s sleeping habits. He has no idea if Junmyeon actually sleepwalks even before he met him as a roommate one month ago. They were not that close yet as Baekhyun and Junmyeon both have different lives outside of their room. Perhaps the only connection Baekhyun has with Junmyeon is the sleepwalking incidents.
Junmyeon sleepily sat on the swing for a while, rocking it slowly until he unconsciously lost his energy for it. Baekhyun was standing beside Junmyeon and his vision was glued on the latter. Junmyeon stood up and walked away from Baekhyun. Baekhyun tailed after him again and checked where his roommate is going to.
Turned out that Junmyeon was bound for their room again and Baekhyun called it as another good night.

Few more nights have passed and the same cycle has repeated for Baekhyun. The moment the door of their room opens, Baekhyun immediately changed into his proper footwear and tailed after Junmyeon. And also to make sure that Baekhyun brought his wallet. There were not a lot of public utility vehicles roaming around the area, and that saved Baekhyun from further embarrassment.
One time Junmyeon bought a drink from the convenience store and his sleeping self totally does not even know what he was actually doing. Baekhyun saved him by paying the drink to the cashier. The cashier casted questionable look at Junmyeon and Baekhyun could only give an apologetic face. Once they got out from the convenience store, Junmyeon punched the straw on his banana milk drink. Baekhyun smiled as he continued tailing after his roommate as they go back to their room.
Baekhyun found that sleepwalking cycle cute for him as Junmyeon has been taking him to places that he has never gone before. They went to a park that has a beautiful fountain. They also went to a restaurant (just outside) in which its architecture is an aesthetic. Baekhyun put those places into memory as he planned to go back there again.
But he never expected Junmyeon to take him to a high cliff facing the sea. Baekhyun listened to the sound of the water waves hitting the rocks as he kept an eye on Junmyeon. Suddenly his close watch on him got interrupted by call from his friend, Chanyeol.
Chanyeol talked to Baekhyun for a moment with Baekhyun getting mad at Chanyeol for calling him at the wee hour of the night. When Baekhyun was done conversing to Chanyeol, he was greeted with a horrifying sight.
Junmyeon was two steps away from falling off the cliff.
Baekhyun immediately ran to Junmyeon and he backhugged him to pull him away from the edge of the cliff. Junmyeon’s eyes opened wide when Baekhyun pulled him away from the edge of the cliff. He woke up.
Then Baekhyun hurled themselves to fall on the ground. Baekhyun’s heart was beating erratically and fast, and he has never felt this scared ever in his life. Baekhyun let out heaps of deep breath to calm himself down from Junmyeon’s near death experience. He kept Junmyeon in his embrace and the latter was still in the state of shock after he woke up.
Baekhyun leaned over to check on Junmyeon and he found out that his roommate has finally woke up. Now that Junmyeon was safe and awake beside Baekhyun, Baekhyun started telling him how on earth did they end up like this.
“You know Junmyeon, I don’t know if you had it before we became roommates. I don’t know if you knew that you have this kind of sleeping problem. One month after we became roommates, something weird happened. You rose from the bed and started to sleepwalk in our room back and forth. I thought it’s going to be a one time thing, but the following day, it happened again. I kept a close eye on you for fifteen minutes to make sure nothing bad happens to you. Then you lied back down on the bed to sleep. The day after that, you sleepwalked to the convenience store and roamed around the aisles there. It went on further for the next few days. I had to make sure that you don’t cross the street carelessly. You went to a playground, a park, and a restaurant. You also went back to the convenience store and good thing I brought my wallet. You bought a banana milk drink and you drank it when we were on our way back to our room. I found it really amusing and cute. ”
Baekhyun briefly narrated the story to Junmyeon and the next part of the story made Baekhyun tear up because of fear. Baekhyun held Junmyeon close to his embrace.
“On my part, I was willing to watch over you as you sleepwalk because I want my roommate to be safe. I never felt this scared in my life. In the first few days, I felt really scared and embarrassed because it’s going to be weird if people will see us like that. But as I get used to it, I found it this cycle to be a little bit fun as I follow you on your adventures. However, I never thought that there would come a time which is today wherein if my friend did not hang up on me yet, you would have fallen from the cliff. Junmyeon, please never do it again. Don’t let the sleepwalking of yours ruin your life and cut it short. I can’t even imagine what is going to happen to you if nobody kept an eye on you everytime you do that. I hope you really get a good proper sleep and hopefully a good sleeping habit. I can’t afford to lose one life yet. Okay?”
Junmyeon was silent but he exhibited a shock expression on his face. He cannot control the loud thump beating of his heart due to shock. He could not believe that this was what happened to him for the last few days. He never thought that he actually had this kind of sleeping problem.
The only miracle that happened to Junmyeon’s life is Baekhyun who has been watching over him woke him up from the sleepwalking.
Junmyeon expressed his gratitude to his roommate. “Thank you so much, Baekhyun. Thank you for saving me and for watching over me. Thank you.”
Baekhyun placed his hand on top of Junmyeon’s hand to comfort him.

“You sleepwalked again, my roommate.” Baekhyun patted his hand on Junmyeon’s shoulder. “You need a cure seriously.”
“Oh really? Aww, I don’t understand anymore why is this happening to me.” Junmyeon was dejected when he found out that he was sleepwalking again.
“I have a proposed solution and before I say that, I wanna tell you something beforehand.” Baekhyun nervously stated his thought.
“What is it, Baekhyun?” Junmyeon was curious.
“I sort of like you a bit. I don’t even know how it happened. I know it’s going to be awkward. And I wonder if you don’t mind about me sleeping beside you every night. But I won’t hold you first. Of course, I won’t yet.” Baekhyun straighthandedly confessed to Junmyeon with a blush creeping on his face.
Junmyeon blushed a bit after hearing Baekhyun’s confession. “I just hope that proposed solution of yours will work later. I don’t really mind at all. However...” Junmyeon trailed off and Baekhyun felt that his heart paused its beating for a moment.
Junmyeon continued after he finished formulating his thought. “I think it’s about time that we finally get to know each other a little bit more, Baekhyun.”
Baekhyun flashed his cute eye smile after he heard what Junmyeon said. His heart resumed its beating. “Yes, it’s about time, Junmyeon. How about we eat breakfast on that restaurant you sleepwalked to last time? That place looks lovely honestly.”
Junmyeon stood up to hit Baekhyun playfully as he felt embarrassed that Baekhyun was teasing him a bit first thing in the morning.
Baekhyun chuckled at Junmyeon and he popped the question that irked Junmyeon. “So who will take a bath first?”
Junmyeon spat back at Baekhyun, “You go inside the bathroom first, dude.”
Baekhyun laughed out loud and that made Junmyeon keep on hitting him.

However, I never thought that there would come a time which is today wherein if my friend did not hang up on me yet, you would have fallen from the cliff. Junmyeon, please never do it again. Don’t let the sleepwalking of yours ruin your life and cut it short. I can’t even imagine what is going to happen to you if nobody kept an eye on you everytime you do that. I hope you really get a good proper sleep and hopefully a good sleeping habit. I can’t afford to lose one life yet. Okay?”
Junmyeon was silent but he exhibited a shock expression on his face. He cannot control the loud thump beating of his heart due to shock. He could not believe that this was what happened to him for the last few days. He never thought that he actually had this kind of sleeping problem.
The only miracle that happened to Junmyeon’s life is Baekhyun who has been watching over him woke him up from the sleepwalking.
Junmyeon expressed his gratitude to his roommate. “Thank you so much, Baekhyun. Thank you for saving me and for watching over me. Thank you.”
Baekhyun placed his hand on top of Junmyeon’s hand to comfort him.

Few days has passed from the incident that has changed Junmyeon’s life. However, Baekhyun woke up finding himself tailing after Junmyeon again. The sleepwalking Junmyeon led Baekhyun to a park that was facing the river. The park was filled with green grass that kept Junmyeon walking around in circles. Baekhyun could only immerse himself with the surroundings and he saw the moon reflecting its shine on the river. He sometimes glanced at Junmyeon’s walking direction.
They stayed at the park for a while until the sleepwalker silently declared that it was time to go back home.

Baekhyun woke up first the following morning and he was staring at the sleeping Junmyeon in front of him. Baekhyun desired for the sleepwalking problem of Junmyeon to be put to a stop. He stood up and dragged the chair in front of Junmyeon and sat down. He waited for Junmyeon to wake up.
Few minutes later, Junmyeon slowly woke up from his sleep. He saw Baekhyun who was there beside him. He slowly sat up in order for him not to feel sleepy again.
“Good morning, Junmyeon.” Baekhyun greeted him when Junmyeon sat up.
“Good morning too, Baekhyun.” Junmyeon greeted back as he looked at Baekhyun. “Uhm, did anything happen again last night?”
“You sleepwalked again, my roommate.” Baekhyun patted his hand on Junmyeon’s shoulder. “You need a cure seriously.”
“Oh really? Aww, I don’t understand anymore why is this happening to me.” Junmyeon was dejected when he found out that he was sleepwalking again.
“I have a proposed solution and before I say that, I wanna tell you something beforehand.” Baekhyun nervously stated his thought.
“What is it, Baekhyun?” Junmyeon was curious.
“I sort of like you a bit. I don’t even know how it happened. I know it’s going to be awkward. And I wonder if you don’t mind about me sleeping beside you every night. But I won’t hold you first. Of course, I won’t yet.” Baekhyun straighthandedly confessed to Junmyeon with a blush creeping on his face.
Junmyeon blushed a bit after hearing Baekhyun’s confession. “I just hope that proposed solution of yours will work later. I don’t really mind at all. However...” Junmyeon trailed off and Baekhyun felt that his heart paused its beating for a moment.
Junmyeon continued after he finished formulating his thought. “I think it’s about time that we finally get to know each other a little bit more, Baekhyun.”
Baekhyun flashed his cute eye smile after he heard what Junmyeon said. His heart resumed its beating. “Yes, it’s about time, Junmyeon. How about we eat breakfast on that restaurant you sleepwalked to last time? That place looks lovely honestly.”
Junmyeon stood up to hit Baekhyun playfully as he felt embarrassed that Baekhyun was teasing him a bit first thing in the morning.
Baekhyun chuckled at Junmyeon and he popped the question that irked Junmyeon. “So who will take a bath first?”
Junmyeon spat back at Baekhyun, “You go inside the bathroom first, dude.”
Baekhyun laughed out loud and that made Junmyeon keep on hitting him.
