Note:
This is my first time ever writing fiction in English. My beta isn't English-speaker either, but feel free to blame grammar errors on her XD, since she is better than me.
Feed back or we'll cry T_T.
The beast who doesn’t eat me.
Joongie P.O.V
“Today, Joongie gotta be a good-good boy, okay sweetie?”
Mommy fixed your collar and lovingly poked your button nose. You shrugged, then throw a full-hand of petals to her.
“Ah, Mommy said you had to be a good boy, did you hear not? Those are for the ceremony, not your toys.”
Mommy scolded you, smiled nevertheless. You tilted your head thoughtfully, not your toys? But, …but you really like white roses, why couldn’t they give them to you?
Realizing that you were really upset, Mommy pinched your cheeks playfully, both sides. You inflated your mouth with sarcasm, knowing that mom could never ever hurt you.
“It’s time to go, sweetie. Remember to do your mission, okay?
You nodded, ran to the long tail of Mommy’s dress. You’d prefer Mommy in pure white, but they said re-married women often wore pink or purple or light blue instead. You hadn’t given it a second thought until you saw Mommy in pink wedding dress. She always looked fabulous.
Music flew smoothly in the air. Mommy said from now on, you would have a Daddy. Mommy was the best. You just nagged her for a Daddy so that you wouldn’t be any different from those kids at school. You never really expected Mommy to buy you a real one.
You saved the white petals from falling to the carpet. You had asked to throw the petals, but yet they doubted your ability and tallness, so all you had to do was following Mommy during the ceremony time. Kind of maid of honor, you reckoned.
Catching a petal by your nose, you flew it back to the air. You zigzagged right behind Mommy, carefully not to step on any petals. Flowers were your friends, considering they never hurt you. You made a promise not to hurt them either. What a hard job hopping from spaces to spaces and holding Mommy’s dress tail at the same time!
Someone was watching you.
You ignored the gaze. If you looked up, you would crush the petals.
“Joongie ah! Don’t playing around sweetie, or Mommy’s dress will look really ugly.” Mommy whispered as she turned to you.
“But…” you were about to explain, but Mommy looked at you no more.
Mommy had to be very anticipated, you thought. She had told you today were one of her three most important days. You asked her about the other two. Mommy said one was the first time you pulled her finger and looked at her with those doe-like eyes. You regretted you couldn’t remember the happiness on her face that day. Mommy showed you a picture of a newly born baby, which was indicated to be you. You wanted to scream. That darkish and wrinkled thing was the most disgusting being you’d ever seen in your entire seven-year-life, you claimed. How could Mommy say you were cute? Did you define the word “cute” wrongly?
Someone was continually watching you. Aarg, you accidentally jumped on a pitiful petal. How sad!
The one left of Mommy’s three important days was the day you found your life’s happiness, which you didn’t understand at all. “I felt marry everyday,” you struggled. Mommy brushed your hair and told you that day was the happiest of the most happiest day of yours. Too much superlatives, you puzzled. At the moment you were about asking Mommy to write that sentence down, Chunnie pounded at the door, loudly asked you to go catching baby fish with him at the beach. You ran off Mommy’s hands, some strands of your hair were not in their proper position yet. When you came back home, exhaustion shoved you into slumber immediately; you forgot to ask Mommy again.
Stop staring.
If you counted to three, that one didn’t tear the gaze, you would stare back. Wasn’t that fair?
Okay.
One.
Two.
Three.
You looked up to where you guessed the gaze came from.
Bingo!
Well, he looked kindda scary. Would it be safe if you politely asked him to look at his way, and your direction was definitely not his correct way?
Suddenly, he smiled a huge one, revealing more than ten of his teeth. Was he attempting to bite you with those…uh oh…fangs? You’d heard about vampires from Chunnie, but how come there was a vampire of your size and at about your age?
He waved at you enthusiastically, that made you wonder if it was about his dinnertime. Mommy said they served a big celebration in Legend Restaurant, including delicious foods. You assured yourself once he saw those yummy dishes, he would forget about you instantly. Right?

Yunnie P.O.V
You gave him your most charming smile, only for him to look away. What’s wrong, you asked yourself. You just wanted to make friend, with your new brother.
Got it! That wasn’t your fault. No doubt he was scared of your grandpa, who missed two front teeth and was standing right next to you.
Daddy said you were going to have a Mommy, and bonus a cutie brother. Daddy also requested you to call him hyung, which you weren’t going to do anyway. What kind of hyung that was even smaller than you? Daddy talked too much nonsense things lately, but you were generous enough to forgive him, at least on those special days of his.
Your grandpa took your new Mommy hand in his, leading her to where your Daddy was standing. You took advance to stand next to your cutie brother, but he gently shoved you back a little. You questioned him by your confusing eyes, and he motioned you to look down at the carpet underneath your feet. You weren’t sure what he meant until you heard his whisper: “Be careful, we aren’t supposed to hurt the petals.” Your mouth pursed into a chubby O. So that was why he chose hoping over normally walking? He was soooo deserved to be your brother, you smile proudly at him. And this time, he smiled back, an angelic smile, a smile you promised not to forget, even when you couldn’t remember anything.
Both of you were so busy smiling at each other that your grandpa had to turn his head back and called for your following. You grabbed his hand, together you two hoped behind your new Mommy and old Grandpa, cautiously not to crush any petals lying beautifully on the carpet. It was harder than you thought, but also funnier than you expected.

"If you promise not to eat me, even when you are terribly hungry…"
"You will let me stay in your room, right?"
"Right."
"I promise."
You locked your pinky with his shorter one. He gave you a suspicious look. You gave him your puppy pleading eyes, by which you were sure, would bring succession. He reluctantly nodded, and you jumped cheerfully on his mattress. Joongie didn’t even yell at you like Daddy when you did the same thing to his bed.
"What if you don’t keep your promise?"
He still didn’t trust you, did he? You wanted to kiss his pout away, but stopped because he might think you wanted to eat his lips. If you found out who made your Joongie so obsessed with human eating human, in this case you eating Joongie, you would make that one suffer miserably.
"Why would I want to eat you? I love you too much."
"Really?"
"Really."
He pulled you into a tight hug. Okay, even though he looked and smelled so delicious, you would always keep you appetite safe for him. No pain no gain, an adult dramatic movie taught you that. You used to sleep with Daddy, but now he dumped you for your new Mommy. You hated sleeping alone, you felt smaller than usual in your supper size bed. More than that, your liked the scent in your Joongie’s room. It exactly felt like you were in a wild flower field. Joongie’s slow breath tickling at your neck didn’t make it any less alike. You smiled to no one special than yourself, sinking deeper in his unconscious embrace, welcoming your dreamy slumber.
Meanwhile, there were two already grown people peeping at the almost closed door. They were afraid that their sweeties wouldn’t get along well. The sight of two boys cuddling each other, whimpering something incoherently in their sleep, pleased them too much to keep their smile from revealing. Daddy let out a relived sigh, nudged Mommy to go back to their room, so that they could continue what ever they had started earlier.
~..End..~
