Second anon from above! I did snippets of moments based off the songs instead of a full story. I hope that’s okay >< I’ll post the rest of the songs later when they’re finished, but I have so much work right now it might take a while. I just wanted to get at least the first song out cause I reeeeally liked this prompt :D
Anyway, enough rambling.
Plus/Space
There’s still time. There’s always time.
He knows this to be true, needs this to be true. He had rewound time before on countless occasions, rewrote history to his liking, fixed errors previously an issue in a now separate reality, changed himself for the sake of Inaba and its inhabitants, prevented the deaths of those he came to love more than anything. He rescued those he could, saved them from their inner turmoil; gave them a fresh start, a new beginning, to accept life and themselves, regardless of the circumstances or challenges that awaited them. He revived people, poured life into them, both physically and mentally; he caught them as they fell not only from the shadows but the shadows within themselves. Doing this, helping others, saving lives, twisting fate to meet what he desired, turning back the hands of time to suit his own needs. It had been done before. It could be done again. It could always be done again.
But the memory- of his friends falling before a god they had no possible chance of defeating; of all of them one by one being taken, forced into the abyss below their feet, trembling; of all their faces contorted, twisted, molded into a look of utter agony and silent, wretched, fearful pleading-
- of Yosuke, roughly and desperately pushing him aside as hard as he could manage in the final moment, burned, bleeding hands engulfing his figure, pulling him, breaking him, ripping him, tearing him apart, dragging him down into that pit of black and pain and nothing and hell, please don’t leave me, not you too- don’t abandon me, don’t leave me alone again, ever again, you promised- of Yosuke, his companion, his best friend, his partner, smiling at him; smiling that goofy, lopsided half-grin, warm and sincere and real, like an idiot, eyes shiny and wet and fading-
That moment, that image, those raw emotions, those pleading, dying eyes boring into him, whispering voiceless truths no living being should ever see, ever comprehend-
